Introduction
This detailed report examines different aspects of our sofa furniture, covering everything
we learned in the course. The analysis covers critical decision areas, a visual statement, a
work breakdown structure, an AON table, and diagram, product focus, and a causes and
effect diagram.
Significance:
Our sofa furniture is designed to offer comfort and style, meeting the varied needs and
tastes of customers.
Questionnaire:
Our product is a sofa and below is the questionnaire about our product which will help us
in designing the unique product.
Purpose:
We are introducing a sofa so we need to find out which qualities should be included in
our product to make our product successful.
The questionnaire aims to gather insights for designing a unique sofa furniture product.
By understanding consumer preferences, we can determine the qualities and features
desired in our sofa designs.
Our primary objective is to identify the specific features and characteristics that
consumers desire in sofa furniture.
This includes understanding the preferred materials, design elements, and functionalities
that would make our product successful in the market.
Target population:
Our target audience encompasses individuals of all age groups, acknowledging that sofas
are essential for people of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.
How it will be administered:
We will survey online methods, recognizing the convenience they offer for participants
and the efficiency they provide for data analysis.
On average, completing an online survey takes about two-thirds less time compared to
other research methods, making it a practical and time-effective approach.
Questions:
• What factors do you consider when purchasing a sofa?
• List your top three priorities when selecting sofa furniture.
• What attracts you the most when choosing a sofa?
• Have you ever experienced discomfort or issues with a particular sofa material?
Pilot survey:
We conducted a pilot survey to clear up any confusion and make sure we collected and
analyzed accurate data.
Critical decision areas:
Quality management:
Emphasis is placed on sourcing high-quality materials and employing robust construction
methods to guarantee optimal comfort and longevity. Materials causing discomfort or
premature wear are strictly avoided.
Product design:
The design process prioritizes the seamless integration of aesthetics and functionality,
ensuring the final product not only looks appealing but also delivers maximum comfort to
users.
Inventory:
A prudent inventory management strategy involves maintaining a stock equivalent to one
week's sales and prompt reordering to meet demand efficiently.
Visual statement
Our vision is to emerge as a leader in the furniture industry by consistently understanding
and exceeding consumer expectations. This involves ongoing innovation and
improvement to create sofas that elevate the comfort and style of living spaces.
Work breakdown structure
The Work Breakdown Structure is used for many different things.
Initially, it serves as a planning tool to help the project team plan, define, and organize the
scope with deliverables.
The WBS is also used as the primary source of schedule and cost estimate activities.
However, its biggest contributions to a project are used as a description of all of the work
and as a monitoring and controlling tool.
The work breakdown structure is a critical planning tool used to define and organize the
scope of sofa manufacturing.
It aids in identifying major components and streamlining the production process for
efficiency.
AON Table and Diagram
AON tables and diagrams are indispensable tools in the manufacturing process of sofa
furniture, serving critical roles in scheduling, cost estimation, and visual representation of
task dependencies.
In terms of scheduling, AON tables outline the sequence of activities, providing a visual
roadmap for efficient production.
These tools contribute significantly to cost estimation by breaking down activities and
identifying associated costs, facilitating comprehensive financial planning.
Their ability to illustrate task dependencies is crucial for preventing bottlenecks and
ensuring a smooth workflow. The visual representation enhances overall visibility into
the manufacturing process, aiding stakeholders in decision-making, resource allocation,
and risk management.
For Sofa furniture manufacturing, AON tables and diagrams are essential assets, ensuring
the timely and successful production of high-quality products.
