OUR PRODUCTS
OUR PRODUCTS ORC
› An Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system is a closed
thermodynamic cycle used for power production from
low to medium-high temperature heat sources ranging
from 80 to 400°C and for small-medium applications at
any temperature level.
› An Organic Rankine Cycle works similarly to the
traditional steam Rankine Cycle. The main
difference is the use of organic substances
(hydrocarbons or refrigerants) instead of water
(steam) as working fluid.
OUR PRODUCTS ORC
ADVANTAGES
Modular-compact configuration, customizable to the resource
Flexibility of operation, suitable for varying load cases
No water consumption
Easy maintenance
Easy operation, fully-automatic plant, no need for dedicated personnel
OUR PRODUCTS ORC vs Steam
ORC CYCLE STEAM CYCLE
T [°C] of heat source Suitable for low-medium temperatures Suitable for high temperatures
Cycle flexibility High Low
Efficiency High both in design and off design conditions High at design point, low at partial load
Type of Expansion Dry expansion with no risk of blade erosion Steam condensation and risk of blade erosion.
Water Consumption No water consumption High, with water treatment requirement
Personnel Needed Automated plant, no need of dedicated personnel Need of dedicated patented operators 24/7
Maintenance Low maintenance needs and costs, remote control Complex maintenance and high costs
OUR PRODUCTS The ROT
› Conceptualized by Exergy, the Radial Outflow
Turbine (ROT) is unique in the ORC marketplace.
› The Radial Outflow Turbine is an extremely highly
efficient and reliable arrangement in ORC
applications

COLD ENERGY RECOVERY
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT cold energy recovery
› Currently, cold energy utilization accounts for less than
1% of its total potential, although around 2.5 GWe could
be produced from its exploitation, which could be further
boosted by climate change policies.
› ORC Cold energy plants are an efficient way to recover
energy from the regasification of liquified natural gas and
to decarbonize the Oil&Gas sector.
