Weishaupt industrial burners 1/2000 CA

WK40 to WK70
for combustion air temperatures up to 250°C
General

Weishaupt WK type industrial

Flue gas
burners were developed to meet
special industrial and commercial
requirements. The burners are Combustion air
suited for operation with or fan
without preheated combustion air
as required. Very high flue gas
temperatures occur on many
industrial processes (e.g. thermal Heat exchanger
fluid boilers) due to the high
media temperatures. A
considerable amount of energy
can be recovered from the hot flue
gases by using a heat exchanger
in the flue gas system to recover
the heat. This technology can
result in improvements in
efficiency of up to 8%.
Boiler
The burners are also often used on
installations without preheated
combustion air. Reasons for this could be
as follows:
● The customer requires a separate
combustion air fan.
● An industrial burner is specified. Combustion air
● The resistances in the heat exchanger max. 250° C Burner
are too high to use a monobloc burn-
er.
● The combustion rating is too high to
use a monobloc burner. Picture showing boiler, heat exchanger and Weishaupt Industrial Burner

Description

Regulation
The burners alter their capacity
proportionally, depending on the heat
requirement. Depending on the type of
control the burner is either:
■ sliding two stage (basic version)
■ modulating

The servomotor run time between partial

and full load is 42 seconds. With sliding
two stage regulation, the partial and full
load positions are fixed within the
regulating range. Depending on heat
demand, the burner slides to one load
point to the other, thus preventing rapid
cycling.
By fitting a suitable controller into the
control panel the standard sliding two
stage burner can be fully modulating.
Modulating burners operate at any load
point within the burner range, depending WKGL40/2-A
on the heat required.

Increased safety due to nozzle head

shut off device with nozzle solenoid
A type tested shut off device is fitted in
the nozzle and shuts off the oil flow
directly in the nozzle orifice. No fuel oil
can leave the nozzle head, thus
increasing safety.

Nozzle recirculation on residual oil

burners
During prepurge on residual oil burners,
heated oil circulates through the nozzle
and oil line system so that on flame
establishment the oil is at the correct
temperature.

Precise oil temperature regulation

with a Weishaupt oil preheater
Weishaupt residual oil burners are fitted
with oil preheaters, which maintain the WKGL40/2-A
preheated temperature and thus the fuel
viscosity constantly at the desired set
value. This results in uniform atomisation
and combustion efficiency.

Flame supervision
The burner control box, which is fitted in
the control panel, sequences burner
operation automatically. It monitors the
flame by means of a flame sensor.

Description, installation example

Burner types WK40 and WK50

Burners operating with preheated
combustion air are supplied with an
insulated burner housing and a cooling-
air fan unit, for which a separate cooling-
air fan is supplied. An oil pump is fitted
on oil and dual fuel (oil/gas) burners and
residual oil burners are further equipped
with an electric preheater. On request,
the WK 40 burner can be supplied with a
separate pump and preheater assembly -
this is often the case with industrial
installations. The burner housing is not
insulated for burners operating at normal
combustion air temperatures.

Burner type WK70

Burners operating either at normal
combustion air temperatures or with
preheated combustion air are both fitted
with internal insulation as standard. For
burners operating at normal combustion
air temperatures the internal insulation
serves as a sound absorber and
consequently the burner noise level is
below 85 dB(A). The pump and
preheater assembly is supplied
separately.
