On the one hand, play computer game can offer several benefits for children. Firstly, many
games require strategic thinking and problem-solving skill, which can enhance children's
cognitive abilities. For example, puzzle games and strategy games often challenge players to
analyze situation, plan ahead and make decisions under pressure, thus fostering critical thinking
and logical reasoning. Secondly, certain games can improve children's hand-eye coordination
and reaction time. Fast-paced action games and simulations often demand quick reflexes and
precise movements, help children to develop fine motor skills and improve their ability to
respond to stimuli. Moreover, some game provide opportunities for social interaction and
collaboration. Multiplayer game encourage teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills as
children work together to achieve a common goal.
On the other hand, excessive game can also have detrimental effect on children. One major
concern is the potential for addiction. Spending excessive time gaming can lead to neglect of
other important activities such as schoolwork, physical exercise, and social interaction, which
can negatively impact their overall development. Furthermore, some game contain violent
content that may desensitize children to violence or promote aggressive behavior. Exposure to
graphic violence in games can influence children's perception and attitude towards violence in
real life. Additionally, prolonged screen time can contribute to health issues such as eye strain,
obesity, and sleep disturbances. Children who spend hour in front of screen may experience
physical discomfort and develop unhealthy habit can affect their well-being.
