Initiation Phase

Project Goals and Objectives:

- Ensure Reliability and Quality to the connections of the Components on
the PCBs
- Optimizing Time efficiency of soldering Components to each board
- Meet or exceed quality standards

Feasibility Analysis

- Automation Increases time efficiency but it has high maintenance costs.

- This can be offset by reducing needed workers and thus freeing up some
financial strains
- As machine reliability is not always perfect, Quality Control is needed to
ensure quality consistency and report any problems along the production
line.

Stakeholders

- PCB Manufacturers
- Electronics Manufacturers
- Consumers

Project Charter

- Description
To introduce Automation on soldering Components to PCBs to ensure
quality and reliability consistency.
- Scope
Automatic Soldering Machines will be introduced to ensure quality and
reliability of the connections on the PCBs. To further reduce the defect rate,
Quality Control is also introduced.

Project Charter

- Business case
To increase time efficiency in soldering components to PCBs and to
ensure consistency on quality and reliability of the products.

- Constraints
Time: 6 months
Budget: TBD
Scope: TBD
Quality: prioritize time and quality over costs

- Project Deliverables
Soldered PCBs in 6 months or so

Benefits
- Reduces time used on Soldering components to PCBs
- Increases reliability and quality consistency of the PCBs connections
- Reduces defect rate in the production line

Steering Committee
- CEO
- Project Manager
- Project team
- consumers

Risks
- Workers may not have enough experience on operating the machines
and may injure themselves in the process.
