Introduction

The group task was to prepare and present a presentation together, requiring teamwork and shared
effort regarding communication through the making of the presentation. Our major objective is to
research, design, build, and deliver a presentation by proving all members of the team are contributing
their lots in a very effective and efficient way. This is a learning and skill experimental process that
involves communication and collaboration skills.

For reflecting on what happened to me during this group task, I have used the Gibbs Reflective Cycle,
developed by Graham Gibbs in 1988. A model in which experiences are divided into six stages includes
Description, Feelings, Evaluation, Analysis, Conclusion, and Action Plan. It enables thinking critically
about the experience of assessing the challenges, evaluating the responses, and planning what could be
done differently for personal or professional improvement in the event of a similar situation in the
future (The University of Edinburgh, 2024).

Group assignment engaged us in a presentation development process that required research,

teamwork, planning, and coordination. Our group aimed at the division of responsibilities in creating,
preparing, and rehearsing the presentation, with the aim of sharpening accuracy and professionalism for
final presentation. Such collaboration means bringing together a bundle of expertise, strengths, and
unique contributions that each member brings forth to create one cohesive product.

This was an opportunity to develop my teamwork and communication skills by exploring personal
learning outcomes on how to work in a team in a professional world.

It was, however quite hard to test how well one would cooperate, communicate or handle problems
that introduced some kind of stress. The aftermath of the experiences allowed me, however to devise
ways through which problems were solved, there was improved inter-personnel communication and an
enhanced understanding of the group working process.

Challenges Encountered and Solutions

During the preparation and delivery process, our group faced two major challenges: miscommunication
about roles and responsibilities and inconvenience in coordinating meeting schedules. These two issues
slightly affected our progress and were responded to with effective problem solving and readjustments.

1. Poorly Communicated Roles and Responsibilities

Among the more immediate challenges were uncertainties regarding the individual role of each member
in the preparation of the presentation: Assumed responsibilities, not discussed at the beginning brought
some duplication of efforts and misunderstandings. For instance, some thought each was to be working
on one part of the presentation while others worked on another. There was considerable delay and
inefficiency when trying to sort out just what each person was doing. We set up a meeting to discuss,
through open communications, what role and responsibility each would play within the group to meet
this challenge. We delegated responsibilities within this meeting based on strengths, interest, and
availability. For instance, key point research was one assignment, another was organizing slides and
designing the presentation, while mine was rehearsals to make sure that everyone was prepared for the
final delivery. This would improve clearness and responsibility to know what to do with the
presentation, instead of our confusing ideas.
I think from this, I learned that clear and frank communication plays a salient role in any team
environment: the roles need to be clearly defined from the very beginning so that misunderstandings
may not be caused to anyone. I really took away that small missteps, handled early on, would not
snowball into major delays thereafter. Transparency, accountability, and teamwork helped the group
get through the problem.

2. Complexity of Meeting Scheduling

The second challenge was keeping in mind the meeting times, since each member had personal
commitments. Making the time which suited all was not less than a hassle, which then again caused a
problem of late finalization of ideas, research findings, and rehearsal for the final presentation. Some
members missed key meetings due to scheduling conflicts and further slowed our progress. In this
respect, to solve this problem, we used collective online tools, such as shared calendars or scheduling
applications to find a time and schedule meetings long in advance.

We scheduled periodic weekly meetings at the best times for the majority of the members. In this way,
all others needed to somewhat change their schedules so that everyone was on par with all the
development the group would make and all the steps it would follow.

The communication became more systematized, and its members were better equipped in sharing their
contributions even if they had missed a particular meeting.

In this, I learned that flexibility, patience, and strategic planning are necessary to possess in a team
environment. Any team or group can have difficulties with scheduling, but being clear as far as a
structure is concerned, such as shared communication tools, will reduce these kinds of problems. This
approach was an important reminder to be flexible yet still keep group members up to date when times
don't match.

Application of Reflection to Future Practice

Through the challenges faced and the reflection applied to those experiences, I have been able to
highlight some key lessons that will inform my future approach to teamwork and leadership.

Miscommunication and schedule conflicts would always be there-be it in academic or work

environments-learning how to handle it is very important as one goes up the ladder. It requires clear,
proactive communication so that everybody is working on the same page toward the same goals. It
involves a little forethought to define expectations, delineate responsibility, and keep things open to
avoid misunderstandings and setbacks. The experience of the session showed that flexibility, along with
the strategic use of technology, was very important in overcoming the logistical hurdles. Shared
calendars and the structured meeting strategy helped the team stay right on track with collaboration
despite time pressures. These are bound to be helpful strategies in any kind of professional or
leadership role but, most importantly, in showing ways to manage teams through different schedules,
priorities, and responsibilities. This process instilled in me confidence in adapting, communicating, and
solving problems when pushed to the wall. Some of the principles taught by this experience include
patience, teamwork, and empathy, and were based on proactive communication. Other than improving
performance at the workplace, these skills will be beneficial when taking other roles either as a leader or
a manager. --- Conclusion This reflective analysis of my experience in the set group task, in a structured
approach, has really been a steep learning curve. All of these factors working on this presentation taught
me how important communication, clear roles, and responsibility are in overcoming the obstacles. Two
major obstacles faced were miscommunication and schedule conflicts. Clearly assigned roles, including
appropriate ways of using shared tools, aided in applying problem-solving strategies to get out of those
difficulties. The experience has enhanced my personal and professional growth through effective
communication, effective collaboration, and insight into how reflection can cause personal
development. These valuable lessons learned from this team experience will continue guiding me
through my future job opportunities because I will be better prepared to approach any teamwork with
confidence, adaptability, and strategic problem-solving.
