Zach Beever
Company: ASML, Electrical Design Engineer

Zach obtained his B.M. in Music Composition from The Boston Conservatory before joining the
LEAP program in 2019. He has research experience in neutrino detector physics (Fermilab
National Accelerator Laboratory) and space physics (Semeter Lab), with additional work
experience as a TA for EK 307 and as an intern for the Navy, where he focused on high energy
pulsed power systems. Currently, Zach is an electrical design engineer at ASML where he works
with both software and hardware to test and integrate the next generation of photolithography
machines.

Chris is currently a Specialist at McKinsey and Company. He has been working at McKinsey for
over 3 years. Prior to McKinsey he worked at a hedge fund in Boston. Prior to the LEAP
program he was a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Elijah Ercolino

Elijah Ercolino is the Director of Engineering at Boston University where he leads the
Mechanical Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) teams.
Elijah works collaboratively and interdisciplinary with research, academics, construction and
operations to support the University’s missions including the Climate Action Plan goal of carbon
free by 2040.
Before joining BU, Elijah spent several years working in venture-backed cleantech startups in
player/coach roles as an Energy Engineer for Commercial/Industrial and Federal clients. Prior to

this, Mr. Ercolino spent six years at a boutique Intellectual Property Law firm focused on
securing the rights of independent inventors.
Elijah graduated from University of Idaho and earned his Master of Science in Mechanical
Engineering from Boston University where he founded the BU Energy Club.

Uros Kuzmanovic

Uros Kuzmanovic is a former biologist turned engineer with a desire to create impact. During his
time at BU he's worked on developing novel biosensors which can meet various needs for
consumers and is now transitioning into a full-time entrepreneur to put these sensors into the
hands of people that need them most.

Evelyn Liu

I work on a variety of projects ranging from space, guided munition, digital engineering, model-
based simulation, to organ-on-a-chip biotechnology.
Austin Moore
Company: Naval Research Laboratory, Materials Engineer
BU Master’s program: Materials Science & Engineering
Grad Year: 2021
I am a materials engineer working as a federal contractor to the Naval Research Laboratory in
Washington DC. I work with a small group within the Optical Materials and Devices branch that
develops thin film photonic and optical technologies. In my short time, I have already been able
to gain experience with many processing and characterization techniques, such as sputtering,
reactive ion etching, SEM, and ion beam evaporation.
Rousseau Nutter

Grad Year: 2019.
I dream of humans inhabiting space and celestial bodies. I want to use my passion for space and
combine my experience with design and engineering to turn this dream into reality. I am
currently working on a few different satellites/space instruments focused on the inspecting the
interaction between the Solar plasma and the earth's magnetosphere. I primarily work on
integration and testing but am also involved with structural design of some instruments.

David Payne
Company: NASA, Strategic Integration Lead

Strategic Integration Lead in NASA's Space Communication and Navigation (SCaN) Office.
Background includes systems design engineering at Boeing working on rocket thrust vector
control systems, government & regulatory affairs at a venture-backed small satellite start-up,
management consulting, and human factors research. MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering,
Masters of Public Policy, and BA in Psychology.
Robert Sumner
Company: Amazon, Computer Characterization Engineer

Grad Year: 2012
Rob worked in film and TV prior to joining LEAP. The academic experience was so fun he
pursued further PhD studies in Electrical Engineering at UC Santa Cruz before joining industry
at a small imaging science software company in Colorado. He currently works at Amazon
Lab126, testing camera systems for consumer electronics.
Karin Sung
Company: California Public Utilities Commission, Senior Energy Analyst

Grad Year: 2012
Karin is a Senior Energy Analyst at California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) in the Gas
Policy and Reliability branch of Energy Division. Prior to CPUC, she worked as a mechanical
engineer for Intel, LADWP, and Senior Aerospace SSP. She is a non-practicing attorney and a
licensed Professional Engineer.
Rebekah Tsang
Company: Shark Ninja, Ninja R&D Co-op (Intern)

Grad Year: 2021
Rebekah graduated this summer and is currently an R&D intern in the Ninja sector at
SharkNinja. This job is a wonderful blend of her bachelor's degree in Home Economics and
interest in the culinary world. She enjoys the hands-on component and the cross-functional
collaboration of this position. Prior to joining the LEAP program in 2019, she was a test kitchen
intern, a learning center manager, a customer service rep, and an accounts receivable specialist.
During her time at BU she competed in tinker competitions (Catapult & Lutron Lighting) and
designed an Airframe with the BURPG (Rocket Propulsion group).
