To what extend do you agree or disagree

Topic 1:

It is often argued that regular exercise and a balanced diet improve our physical and
mental health. I strongly agree with this opinion and think that both exercise and having
balanced diet have played an important part in people’s health.

To begin with, there are 2 main reasons why I agree that doing exercise everyday is
good for our health. Firstly, doing exercise can reduce the risk of having disease.
Working out everyday helps strengthen muscle and bone, which plays an important role
in improving health. For example, an elderly who does exercise everyday is harder to
get sick than who does not. Secondly, doing exercise can affect our mood in a positive
way and reduce stress. According to the Harvard Medical School, running for 15
minutes a day or walking for an hour reduces the risk of major depression. Moreover,
people who exercise regularly feel more energetic throughout the day, sleep better at
night, have sharper memories, and feel more relaxed and positive about themselves
and their lives.

In term of having balanced diet, there are also 2 main reasons why I agree. The first
reason is that you can control your weight. Eating rich-nutrient foods leaves less room
for those junk foods that typically lead to weight gain. Eating carbohydrates like whole
grains, oats, vegetables, fruits, ... will allow our body to stay full for a longer period of
time. Another reason is that we can have more brain power just by eating healthy food.
Omega 3 fatty acids, which are always contained in nuts, seeds or seafood, provide a
number of important benefits, such as improved memory and the ability to learn. They
also help fight against debilitating mental disorders, for example, depression.

In conclusion, regular exercise and a balanced diet are essential pillars for maintaining
and enhancing our physical and mental health. Exercise not only strengthens our
bodies and reduces the risk of disease but also boosts our mood and lowers stress
levels. Likewise, a nutritious diet supports weight management and provides vital
nutrients that enhance brain function and overall mental well-being. By incorporating
both into our daily lives, we can lead healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives.

It is often argue that urban life attracts people with its fast pace, while others are drawn
to the countryside for its peaceful lifestyle. I completely agree with this opinion and think
that both life in the city and the countryside have its own beauty.

On the one hand, rural life is known for its peaceful and serene environment. Firstly, you
can have lower cost of living. In most cases, the cost of living in the countryside is
lower, making rural life more affordable. That’s due to many households can grow crops
on their own farms and don’t need to care about the rent fee of the house because most
of them inherited the house from the previous generation. Secondly, the countryside
generally offers a healthier environment, both mentally and physically. According to
[Link], being surrounded by greenery, forests, rivers, and open spaces that are
usually in the countryside can reduce stress and anxiety. There are also less traffic jams
and factory in countryside so it has lower levels of air pollution. People who breath
cleaner air can reduce the risk of health issues such as Lung Cancer, Heart Disease
and so on.

On the other hand, living in the city is famous for its fast pace and full of energy life
style. First of all, it has Diverse Social and Cultural Events. For example, Cities host
numerous concerts, festivals, sports events, and art exhibitions throughout the year. For
instance, Chicago's music festivals, Paris' fashion shows, and so on draw massive
crowds and are emblematic of urban dynamism. Secondly of all, Urban areas are
usually the first to benefit from innovations in infrastructure, transportation, and
technology, which further energize the pace of life. For example, Modern cities like
Seoul and Singapore implement smart city technologies and efficient public
transportation systems that keep the city buzzing, encouraging a faster lifestyle as
people can move more efficiently and access resources quickly.

In conclusion, both urban and rural lifestyles offer unique advantages that cater to
different preferences and needs. While the fast-paced, energetic city life attracts those
seeking vibrant social scenes, cultural events, and technological advancements, the
peaceful countryside appeals to those who value tranquility, a lower cost of living, and a
healthier, less polluted environment. Each lifestyle has its own distinct beauty, allowing
people to choose based on their personal priorities and well-being.

Topic 4:

It is often argued that getting a degree from university is the best way to guarantee a
good job. I completely agree with this opinion and think that going to college or
university is the fastest way to have a good job.

The first reason is that having a degree increases access to job opportunities. Having a
bachelor’s degree opens up rewarding opportunities that might have otherwise been
inaccessible. For example, college graduates see 57 percent more job opportunities
than non-graduates. The second reason is that many of the highest-income jobs require
an official academic transcript to get hired. For instance, it is known that doctors,
engineers, and lawyers have the best salary and all of these jobs require a degree.
Moreover, all of them require long years of studying such as about 7 years for doctors.
The last reason is that University programs often offer practical training in skills like
communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving, which are highly valued by
employers. These skills help university graduates stand out in the job market, which can
lead to faster hiring and more advancement opportunities compared to those who lack
formal training. According to a report from McKinsey & Company, 87% of employers
believe that graduates are better equipped with the soft skills needed for today’s
workforce.
In conclusion, obtaining a university degree is a critical factor in securing a good job in
today’s competitive job market. A degree not only expands access to a wider range of
job opportunities but also qualifies individuals for high-income positions that require
formal education. Given these advantages, pursuing higher education remains one of
the most effective pathways to achieving professional success and financial stability.

Topic 5:

It is often argued that the Internet allows faster and more efficient communication and
helps build relationships while it also make more and more people tend to avoid
socialization. I completely agree with this opinion and think that although the Internet
provides people many ways to communicate, it also has many drawbacks.

On the one hand, the Internet make communication between people more efficient.
Firstly, There are a lot of way to communicate with other nowadays. For example,
people now can use apps like zoom, discord, messenger and so on to do many things
like playing games, working and video calling. Those platform enable instant text, voice,
or video communication, breaking down geographical barriers and making long-distance
interaction as easy as local communication. Secondly, You can make many relationship
not only in your area but all over the world. Social networks are used by people from all
regions, so it is easier for us to make friends online. You can also keep connections with
your friends from other areas. For example, one of my friends went to study abroad, but
we can still play games while calling each other through the app called Discord.

On the other hand, the Internet can also limit personal contact and strain relationship.
The first reason is that it reduced Face-to-Face interaction. In-person meetings are
essential for maintaining strong, deep relationships, but they are now slowly replaced by
online communication, especially after 2 years of COVID-19. Excessive internet use can
result in people spending less time with family and friends in person. Internet addiction,
whether it's social media, gaming, or browsing, can lead to spend more time online and
less time engaging in real-world social activities.

In conclusion, while the Internet has undeniably revolutionized communication by

making it faster, more efficient, and accessible across long distances, it also brings
certain drawbacks that can hinder real-life social interactions. Although it offers many
platforms for staying connected and building relationships globally, over-reliance on
online communication can reduce face-to-face interaction, potentially weakening
personal connections. Therefore, a balanced approach to using the Internet is essential
to enjoy its benefits without compromising the quality of our real-world relationships.
