Tên Talkshow: The USSH show
Good evening, everyone, and welcome to The USSH Show! Tonight, we’re exploring a topic that
resonates with every single one of us—fear. But not just any fear—the kind that keeps us awake at
night and holds us back from achieving our goals. We’re talking about the fear of public speaking,
the fear of failure, and the ever-daunting fear of the unknown.
These are the fears that shape our decisions and sometimes even define our lives. But tonight, we’ll
unpack why they exist and how we can overcome them.
To help us navigate these challenges, we’re joined by Ms. Ha, a renowned professor from the English
Faculty here at USSH, Ms. Dao, an esteemed alumna of USSH's English Faculty, and Mr. Duy, a senior
English major at our university. Now, let’s embark on our journey into the world of fear.
Thank you all for being here on The USSH Show! To start things off, let’s talk about fear—it’s
something we’ve all experienced in one way or another. Could each of you share with us a fear that’s
had a significant impact on your life?
Hà: Absolutely. Years ago, I had a crippling fear of public speaking. The thought of standing in front of a
crowd would send chills down my spine. It limited my career opportunities and personal growth.
Host: Thank you for sharing that. Overcoming a fear like public speaking is truly transformative.
Now, let’s hear from our next guest, Ms Đào?
Đào: I'm afraid of failure. That fear deeply affects the way I think, act and make decisions in life. I’m not
sure when this fear began—maybe in childhood, when mistakes often led to scolding or even
punishment from my parents. At some point, I started feeling like I’d always mess up, which made me
insecure, cautious, and even shy.
Host: Thank you for opening up about your childhood memory! How about you Mr Duy?
Duy: I'm afraid of many things—like insects, getting hurt, or talking to strangers. But the biggest
fear that comes to mind is the fear of the future. I often hesitate to make decisions because I'm
scared of the consequences, like wondering, 'What if I make the wrong choice?' or 'Is it bad if I do
this?
Host: I see your point—uncertainty about the future can be really overwhelming. So how do our
fears hold us back from achieving success and pushing past our limits? Ms. Dao, I’d love to hear your
thoughts on this.
Dao: Our fears hold us back by making us doubt ourselves. For me, the fear of making mistakes
leads to procrastination and a need for perfection. I often avoid starting tasks, afraid the results
won’t meet expectations, which keeps me from moving forward and growing.
Host: I see your point. So, the big question is—how can we confront and overcome these fears to
break free from their grip? Professor Ha, as an accomplished woman, I’d love to hear your insight.
Ha: The key is to face your fears head-on. Avoid procrastination and take action, even if it's just a
small step. Remember, progress, not perfection, is the goal. Don't be afraid to seek help from a
therapist or counselor. They can provide valuable tools and techniques to manage fear.
Host: Thank you, Professor Ha, for your invaluable advice. Now, let’s hear from our senior university
student. Duy, you mentioned your fear of uncertainty about the future—do you think social media
makes the world feel scarier and worsens this fear?
Duy: Yes, as a senior, I think social media makes our fear of the future worse. It’s full of negative
news and comparisons that make everything seem uncertain and stressful, instead of offering any
real answers or comfort.
Host: Thank you for sharing that, Duy. To wrap up tonight’s discussion, let’s end with this final
question: Imagine you’re stranded on a deserted island, all alone. What fear do you think would
surface, and what story would you tell yourself about the future?
For this question I want to hear form all of you. Let`s start with you Duy
Well, that’s all the time we have for tonight’s episode of The USSH Show. A big thank you to our
incredible guests—Ms. Ha, Ms. Dao, and Mr. Duy—for sharing their valuable insights and personal
stories about fear. And of course, thank you to all of you, our audience, for tuning in. Until next time,
take care and remember, fear is just another challenge to conquer!
