I. Learning Guides of the subject

1. The students should familiarize themselves with the equipment.


 Learn to hold the pickleball paddle with a proper grip (continental grip is common).
 Practice bouncing the ball on the paddle to develop control.
2. The students should understand the court layout and rules.
 Identify the non-volley zone (kitchen), service areas, and boundaries.
 Memorize key rules like the double-bounce rule and scoring system.
3. The students should practice serving the ball.
 Stand behind the baseline and use an underhand motion to hit the ball diagonally into
the opponent's service court.
 Aim for accuracy and consistent height.
4. The students should focus on returning the serve.
 Position themselves correctly to receive the serve.
 Let the ball bounce once, then return it with a controlled stroke to the opposite side.
5. The students should practice dinking near the net.
 Stand at the edge of the kitchen and gently hit the ball over the net into the opponent's
kitchen.
 Keep the ball low and soft to minimize attack opportunities for the opponent.
6. The students should work on volleying.
 Practice hitting the ball mid-air (without letting it bounce) while staying out of the
non-volley zone.
 Focus on control and quick reflexes.
7. The students should develop their third-shot drop.
 After serving, practice hitting a soft, high-arcing shot that lands in the opponent’s
kitchen.
 Use this to transition from the baseline to the net.
8. The students should improve their footwork.
 Practice moving quickly and efficiently between the baseline and the kitchen.
 Stay balanced and maintain a ready position with knees slightly bent.
9. The students should learn teamwork for doubles.
 Communicate clearly with a partner during doubles matches.
 Cover the court effectively by dividing responsibilities.
10. The students should consistently practice and stay patient.
 Build skills step by step, starting with fundamentals and progressing to advanced
techniques.
 Enjoy the game and celebrate improvements over time.

 Team Green:
o The women’s doubles team should focus on improving their receiving skills,
as this area is currently a weakness.

 From the Referees:


As referees, we had the unique opportunity to officiate the Pickleball Tournament
organized by our class. The experience was both challenging and rewarding, requiring
continuous focus and impartial judgment to maintain the integrity of the matches.
While it was physically tiring due to the intensity of the games and the need to stay
alert, it was equally gratifying to witness the enthusiasm and active participation of all
players. The vibrant energy and camaraderie among classmates made the tournament
truly enjoyable, leaving us with unforgettable memories and a sense of
accomplishment. This experience was not only a test of our skills but also an
incredible opportunity for growth.
 From the Players:
Players expressed their appreciation for the tournament, noting that it was well-
structured and provided a balanced mix of competition and enjoyment. Many
highlighted that the event helped them improve their skills in a practical setting, while
also fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. A few players mentioned initial
difficulties in understanding the rules, but they appreciated the support and guidance
provided during the games. Overall, players felt that the activity was engaging,
educational, and an excellent way to bring the class together.
 From the Committees:
The committees shared that organizing the tournament was a challenging but highly
rewarding experience. From planning logistics to ensuring smooth execution, every
task required dedication and collaboration. They felt proud of their ability to
coordinate such a successful event and appreciated the positive feedback from both
players and referees. Some noted that time management could be improved in future
events, but they valued the teamwork and problem-solving skills they developed
through this process.
Overall Feedback:
The participants unanimously agreed that the Pickleball Tournament was a valuable and
enjoyable experience. The course structure and final examination were well-received, with
many emphasizing that the practical application of skills made the activity more meaningful.
While there were areas for improvement, such as better time allocation and clearer rule
explanations, the tournament was a resounding success, leaving everyone with a sense of
achievement and cherished memories.
