D. Discussing new concepts and Outcomes of probability experiments can be classified using this scale:
practicing new skills no.1. 0= impossible to happen (if an event will never happen)
½= equally likely to happen (if an event has an equal chance to happen)
1= certain to happen (if an event is sure to happen)
EXPLORE Example.
1. The probability that a red marble is drawn from a box of blue marbles.
2. The probability that a letter E is drawn from a deck of cards of vowel letters.
The probability that a blue marble is drawn from a box of blue marbles.
E. Discussing new concepts and Group the class into 5. Asks the class to perform the task assigned to them. Require them to write Objective 9-Designed,
practicing new skills no.2 the results of simple experiments on a manila paper using the table. adapted, and implemented
Group 1 teaching strategies that are
1. Spin the spinner. responsive to leaners with
2. Put a mark in the tally column for each color where the spinner stops. disabilities, giftedness, and
talents.
3. Add the tally marks for each column and write the number in the frequency
4. Express the outcome or probability using the formula.
Example:
Probability (blue) = The number of successes (time spinner stopped at blue)
Number of trials (number of times the experiments was done)

Group 2 and 3
1. From a box containing 4 kinds of candies
2. Pick a candy without looking.
3. Put a mark on the tally column for the candy you pick and then return the marble into the
box.
4. Do this experiment 20 times. Add the tally marks for each candy. Write the number in the
frequency column.
5. Express the probability using the formula.
Example:
Probability (pink)= number of successes
Number of trials
Group 4 and 5
Using number cards (1, 2, 3, 4,)
1. Using numbered cards, pick a card. Put a mark under the tally column. Return the card into the
deck.
2. Do this 20 times.
3. Add the tally marks for each number card. Write the number in the frequency column.
4. Express the probability using the formula.
Example:
Probability (0) = number of successes (frequency)
number of trials (number of times the experiment was done)

F. Developing Mastery Process the task:

(Leads to Formative Assessment 3.) Ask the group to post their outputs in the board
1. How did you find the activity?
EXPLAIN 2. How did you perform the simple probability experiments?
3. How did you record the results of your probability experiments?
4. How did you express the outcomes of your probability experiments?
5. What did you notice in the results of your probability experiments?
Lead a discussion on using the formula in expressing outcomes of probability experiments.

G. Finding practical application of A. Excersice

concepts and skills in daily living Ask the pupils to answer the following:
After a 5-peso coin tossed 20 the table below shows the data:
Side of Coin Tally Frequency
Head lllll- lllll-ll
Tail lllll- lll
Express the probability using the given formula.
 Out of 20 times, how many times did the head show up?
 Out of 20 times, how many times did the tail show up?
B. Solve the following:
1. Head
12÷20=
2. Tail
8÷20=
H. Making Generalization and
abstraction about the lesson  Lead the pupils to give the following generalization by asking:

ELABORATE How do you record simple prediction?

 (By doing simple probability experiments, we can determine the number how many times an
event may occur. We use a table and record the outcome)

I. Evaluating learning Write 0 for impossible to happen, ½ for equally likely to happen and 1 for certain to happen. Objective 12- Utilized assessment

4. Without looking, what is the probability that a red marble is drawn from a box of red
marbles?
5. From a class of 20 boys and 20 girls, what is the probability that a boy is chosen as the
leader?
