Ashewa Technologies

Ashewa technologies company ([Link])

Background of the Organization

Establishment

Initially Ashewa Technology Solution S.C was founded by the young visionary, DanielBekele
and his 5 friends in May 2020 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Currently Ashewa has a total of 12
Board members, hundreds of shareholders and 52 trained professionals. Daniel has got the
access to actively engage in the market from an early age. The town is best known for its
active trade practices, which gives him a chance to intimately engage in the process

of transaction.
This coupled with the fact that he come from a farmer and merchant family has resulted in
him being grown to be a very fond of the market & many would say he excelled in the market.
But for Daniel, what resonates more was the community that has come together around the
market with strong binding values. Those people were trusting, dependable and real

hard-working folks, who genuinely believe in each other and in the market.
The faith and trust those communities instilled in him at such a young age is a
motive he holds up today, to live up to his highest potentials, because their unbreakable faith
has created a real sense of belonging in him. He inherited that unwavering trust and
brings it to Ashewa abundantly, and builds a company, a team and a community based on
that value.
Yet, despite making a lot of money for his age, it didn’t take him a long time to
understand the limitation in the local trade. Most of the trade activity was limited to labor,
short distance and small networks which makes it difficult to upscale and exhausting
at the same time.

6
Then he founded Ashewa PLC, an E-commerce platform. The new platform has demonstrated
a high performance in a very short time, in 8 months to be specific. The
performance was 88% higher than other e-commerce platforms in Ethiopia. The high-
performance proofs that there is a high demand and huge potential for digital
economy. What was lost was a reliable and organized platform. It right there
Ashewa decides to be a share company and invest a huge resource in order to
solve real Ethiopian problems through large scale technological solutions. And it
takes its story to be a story of resilience, because Ashewa is born out of a dire need for change.
They make it their own purpose to create the platform for young talents. It is intended to put
an end for poverty, migration and death. In time the youth should no more lost on the desert
in search of a better life .

RECOMMANDATION WITH JUSTIFIED REASON FOR THE COMPANY

An e-commerce company operates in a highly competitive, fast-evolving landscape. To maintain

growth, improve profitability, and stay ahead of competitors, it is critical to continually innovate
and adapt to market changes. Here are some strategic recommendations for an e-commerce
company, along with justified reasons:

1. Optimize User Experience (UX) and Mobile Responsiveness

23
Recommendation: Ensure the website and app are user-friendly, with fast load times, intuitive
navigation, and mobile-optimized interfaces.

Justification: With increasing mobile traffic and user expectations for seamless experiences,
optimizing the website and mobile app for speed and ease of use is crucial. Studies show that
53% of mobile users abandon sites that take longer than 3 seconds to load. A smooth UX helps
to reduce bounce rates and increase conversion rates, directly improving revenue.

2. Personalized Recommendations and AI Integration

Recommendation: Implement AI-driven product recommendations and personalized

experiences for customers.

3. Streamlined Payment Process & Multiple Payment Options

Recommendation: Offer multiple payment options (e.g., credit/debit cards, digital wallets,
BNPL - Buy Now Pay Later) and simplify the checkout process to make it as quick and easy as
possible.

Justification: A complicated checkout process is a major contributor to cart abandonment. By

offering diverse and convenient payment options, you cater to a broader audience and reduce
friction at the point of sale. According to recent studies, 69% of online shoppers abandon carts
due to a complicated checkout process or limited payment options.

4. Efficient Customer Support System

Recommendation: Implement an omnichannel customer support system, combining live chat,

social media support, AI chatbots, and phone support.

Justification: Customer support is a key differentiator in e-commerce. Providing quick,

responsive, and multi-channel customer service helps build trust and satisfaction. A study by
Zendesk found that 69% of consumers prefer to solve customer service issues through live chat,
while 57% of customers expect a response within an hour.

5. Effective SEO and Content Marketing Strategy

Recommendation: Focus on strong Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practices and build a
robust content marketing strategy (blog posts, video content, reviews, etc.).

Justification: Organic search is often the largest source of traffic for e-commerce stores. By
improving your SEO, you can increase visibility on search engines like Google, making it easier
for potential customers to find your products. Additionally, content marketing builds brand
authority and trust. Well-crafted content, such as how-to guides or product reviews, not only
attracts traffic but also nurtures customer relationships and conversions.

24
6. Sustainability & Ethical Practices

Recommendation: Embrace sustainable practices, such as eco-friendly packaging, carbon

offsetting, or sourcing ethical products.

Justification: Consumers are becoming increasingly conscious of environmental issues, with

66% of global consumers willing to spend more on sustainable brands (Nielsen). Incorporating
sustainable practices into the business model can attract eco-conscious customers and
differentiate your brand from competitors.
