Reflection about Self-learning

Share your insights from last week’s self-learning activity. Write at least a 30-word
response to each reflection question: What? So what? Now what?

A. What happened? Describe a specific self-learning activity

you completed. What was your main goal for this activity?
Description What steps did you take to achieve this goal? What was the
result or outcome?

Last week, I watched an English movie, Enola Holmes.

My main goal was to improve my English listening
skills, especially focusing on unfamiliar vocabulary,
sentence structures, and phrases. Whenever I came
across unknown words, I paused the movie to look
them up. I also paid extra attention to unfamiliar
expressions. This approach helped me better
understand the dialogue and enhanced my sensitivity
to the language.

B. Why does that matter? Why was this experience

meaningful or important to your learning? How did this
Interpretation activity help you with your goals? How did this experience
make you feel (satisfied, challenged, motivated)? Give an
explanation.

This experience was significant because it showed me how

simple and practical expressions can be used in everyday
conversations. The dialogues in the movie were very relatable to
daily life, and I learned many useful sentence structures and
phrases. By combining them with the vocabulary I already
know, I can apply them in real-life situations. This learning
process gave me a sense of accomplishment, as I not only
improved my listening skills but also realized I could grasp
more words and phrases in context.

What are you going to do about it? What will you do next
Plan based on what you learned from this experience? Will you
continue using this strategy, or will you try something new?

Based on this experience, I plan to continue watching

English movies and maintaining the habit of learning
new words and expressions. Additionally, I have

enrolled in an online American English speaking

course, where I can practice speaking with a real
person. I hope to apply what I’ve learned from movies
during these conversations and further improve my
speaking skills. This will allow me to use English more
flexibly and gain more confidence in communication.
