IndianOil is offering rare opportunity to the CHEMICAL ENGINEERS with prior work experience
in ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL AND OPTIMISATION to join as Managers (Grade C) in
Refineries Division in Mid-Level. The details of eligibility for the position are as follows:

2. Educational Qualification
B.E./ B. Tech. or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering (Full-time programme from a
recognized University/Institute.
The candidate must have completed the qualification under an ‘in Campus program’ from an
University duly approved by UGC or an Institute duly approved by AICTE.
3. Post Qualification Experience (As on 31st October, 2017)
Minimum 8 years of experience in Chemical /Refining/Petro-chemical Industry, out of which
minimum 5 years should be in Advanced Process Control/ Real time optimization experience
in the areas like:
2.1 APC implementation experience in process units (involvement in all project activities
like PID loop-tuning, Functional Design, Step-Testing, Model development, Inferential

building, APC-DCS interfacing, DCS graphics and logic building experience, system
functioning, site acceptance and benefit audit).
2.2 Experience with leading APC technology companied (eg Honeywell/ Yokogawa/ Aspen
Tech etc or any other similar organization).
2.3 Experience with leading LP planning software like RPMS/PIMS etc. and yield delta
vector updates.
2.4 Experience with leading Process Simulation Software like PRO-II/Aspen Plus or others
2.5 Experience with Real Time Optimisation
4. Maximum Permissible Age (As on 31st October, 2017)
4.1. Maximum 36 years as on 31st October, 2017 for general category candidates. Age relaxation
for OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PWD candidates will be applicable as per the
Presidential Directives.
Relaxation in age as per the rules and regulations of Govt. of India will be applicable to the
candidates belonging to OBC category candidates in regard to the maximum permissible age.
4.2. For getting the benefits of reservation under OBC category:
4.2.1. The name of caste and community of the candidate must appear in the ‘Central list of
Other Backward Classes’
4.2.2. The candidates must not belong to creamy layer.
4.2.3. The candidates need to furnish their OBC certificate as per the format prescribed by
Government of India and it must not be more than 6 months old.
4.3. SC/ST candidates may apply for the above mentioned positions. However, they will be
considered against unreserved positions only.
4.4. Age relaxation by 5 years for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1.1.1980
and 31.12.1989.
4.5. Age relaxation by 5 years for Ex-servicemen & Commissioned Officers (including
ECOs/SSCOs) subject to rendering minimum 5 years’ military service and fulfilment of other
conditions prescribed by Government of India.
5. Job Responsibilities
4.1 Scoping studies (in-house/through vendors) for benefits estimation for automation
technologies in relevant process units.
4.2 Implementation /upgrade of APC applications as per cost benefit analysis.
4.3 Maintenance of already implemented APC applications in active co-ordination with
the APC licensor i.e identify and tune dynamic models, come up with working
inferential calculations, add new constraints when needed etc.
4.4 Running Refinery planning applications like RPMS
4.5 Create check logics to deal with erroneous instruments / abnormal situations, which
require special control strategies.
4.6 Continuous education of operators at all locations where APC is implemented and help
them understand the seemingly complex actions of APC.
4.7 Implementation/ Upgradation of RTDBMS in co-ordination with IS department across
entire Refinery.

6. Pay & Perks
6.1. Selected candidates will be placed in Grade C as Managers in the pay-scale of Rs. 32,900-
58,000/- (pre-revised).
6.2. The pay scales and perks in CPSEs are due for revision w.e.f 01.01.2017. A considerable
increase in pay and perks is expected post the revision in pay-scale. Expected basic pay for
Grade C (Manager) after revision is Rs 80,000/-Rs 2,20,000/- .
6.3. Other allowances / benefits include HRA / subsidized housing accommodation (depending)
upon place of posting), medical facilities, performance related pay, Gratuity (due for revision),
contributory Provident Fund, Employees’ Pension Scheme, Group Personal Accident
Insurance Scheme, Leave encashment, Leave Travel Concession, (LTC) / LFA, contributory
Superannuation Benefit Fund Scheme, Conveyance Advance / Maintenance reimbursement,
Performance related Incentive (PRP), etc. as per rules of the Corporation
6.4. At present the Cost-to-Company including performance related pay for Officers selected in
Grade C position is about Rs. 16.00 lakhs p.a (pre-revised).
6.5. The actual CTC will vary depending on place of posting, financial performance of the
Corporation and also performance rating of individual. The remuneration of the executives in
currently under review.
7. Selection Process :
7.1. The Selection process for the Post will comprise two level Interviews. The steps involved in
the selection process will be:
a) Candidates will first be shortlisted based on meeting the eligibility conditions in
academic and their post academic experience profile filled-in by them while submitting
on-line application. Candidates are advised to provide the desired details truthfully
during submission of on-line application.
b) Further short-listing will be carried out based on first round of interview
c) Final selection (provisional) will be carried out during the 2nd round of interview.
8. Physical Fitness
8.1. Selected candidates will be required to undergo ‘Pre-employment Medical Examination’ and
should be declared medically fit as per IndianOil’s pre-employment medical standard.

9. Liability to Declare
9.1. Candidates with reported ailments, deficiencies or abnormalities and also those with finding of
not meeting the physical fitness criteria as above, shall make a declaration to this effect while
submitting their application.
9.2. A candidate found UNFIT during medical examination conducted by any Refinery Unit while
seeking regular employment in the past shall also be required to declare the same with reasons
for being declared UNFIT.

9.3. Candidates have to necessarily declare in case he has been arrested, prosecuted, kept under
detention or fined, convicted by the Court of law for any offence debarred / disqualified by
any Public Service Commission from appearing in its examination.
10. Service Liability
10.1. Selected candidates for Grade C positions will have to execute a bond of Rs. 3,00,000/-(Rs
Three Lakh only) (Rs.50000/- (Rs Fifty Thousand only for reserved category candidates)
to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of 3 (three years) from the date of joining.
10.2. These positions will be operated in Refineries Division only. The selected candidates will
be posted under refineries division (either at Refineries HQ, New Delhi or at any other
refineries Unit of IndianOil.
10.3. The candidates must be ready to be transferred anywhere in India/ abroad based on the
organisational requirement.
11. Application Fees
11.1. Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee
of Rs 1000 (Rs One Thousand only) + applicable bank and agency charges. For candidates

13.1. The position is for the candidates having specific experience in the field of advanced
process control and optimisation in the field of petroleum refining. Candidates not

14.6. Once the application is submitted, a unique identification number will be generation by the
system and the candidate will also receive a confirmation through e-mail and SMS on their
registered e-mail ID and Mobile number respectively. The unique ID must be preserved by
