Socially Responsible Efforts

Ben and Jerry’s

Ben and Jerry’s seek to eliminate injustices in the communities and include those

concerns in their day-to-day activities. One way of doing this is supporting multiple groups for

example racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, climate justice and more. They value making sure that at

every level of their business that they are advancing human rights, support social and economic

justice and more. Another commitment they have is to restore the degraded natural environments

and help increase diversity and abundance of ecosystems.

TOMS shoes

Toms shoes help fund nonprofits that serve communities mental health needs like

employment, gun violence prevention, and larger education. They give 1/3 of their profits to

those organizations to help them provide those services to those in need. They focus on mental

health because they learned that 1 in 8 people in the world have mental health challenges. They

also make sure that for a long time they have had a commitment to inclusion, any-racism,

diversity, and equity.

Benefits

By adopting socially conscious policies it gives the company a good foundation for

receiving more customers. If a company can help their communities and show that they support

certain groups they are more likely to gain profit since more customers see them as a helpful

company. Also, but adopting socially conscious policies and doing certain things the company is

helping the world with what they do. They are making a difference in a world that needs it now
more than ever. So, to summarize they will gain customers, profits and will help the

communities.

Socially Responsible Policy

SNHU pet supply company could share some of their profits even if it’s a small portion

to a charity that helps the community for example the charity “Wounded Warriors Family

Support” that assists military families. They could also support certain groups like LGBTQ+,

people of color and women. By showing their support to groups in their community will help

gain customers and better their profits. Which in the end the more profits they get the more they

can donate to a charity or charities and help out the community even more.
