INTRODUCTION
Every person in this world have their own religions to obey for. As we can see in this
world nowadays, people are freely to seek for the truth, to choose their own paths, and to find
the real purpose of life. Islam, Christian, Judaism and Hinduism has been a long time arrived
at this world and manage to assemble their adherents more than millions people.
I have been commissioned by my lecturer, Dr. Noh, to do an internet assignment
regarding the religion whether to choose among Christian, Judaism or Zoroastrianism
followers. Each student is to engage an internet partner from another religion and to have
conversation with he or she. In this task, some questions must be asked to the partner and
collected answer must be display in this assignment using print-screen method. The
importance of this assignment are we can gain more knowledges and make new friends from
other religions. Other than that, we as Muslims, also can share with them about the holy
Islam and etc.
Related to the task and requirements given, I have choose a Christian follower from
the social media, Twitter. He used ‘Jesus Saves Bro’ as his username of the account. I have
privately message this person to have a sharing conversation regarding his religion. He
agreed to help me but insist to have some conditions. He asked me not to exposed our
conversation outside and he used tweet method to answer my questions. He used the platform
of social media to preach people about the glory of Christian. I could say that he is a good
adherent of Christian, obey to his religion, and put some efforts to spread peace among
religions.
What “religion” means to him?
Who is God or how does he understands God?
How well does he understands the theology of the religion?
How well does he understands the doctrines of the religion?
How does he perceives the different sects in his religion?
How does he perceives other religions and their communities?
What are the problems, if any, for he to practise his religion?
What does he think about the role of religion in today’s life – e.g. important,
insignificant or irrelevant – and what he wants it to be.
CONCLUSION
Remember this, that the real, authentic religion is concerned with the being, not with
the doing. It has nothing to do with your outer way of life. It has something to do with your
center. Of course, when the center changes, the periphery follows; your outer life also
changes. But the reverse is not true : you can change the periphery the center will not change.
And you win live the life of a hypocrite, a life of hypocrisy. You will have a different
periphery from the center, not only different but just the opposite, the very contrary. And you
will be split in two.
Religion is not ritual. Remember that religion is an inner consciousness, an inner
awakening. Many things on the surface will change, but the change must occur within you
first.
Religion is remembering, becoming again a part of the organic unity that you are. It is
nothing to do with the others. The ego is always concerned with the others, this way or that.
When you become totally concerned with yourself, ego simply drops. There is no point for it
to exist.
Religion is higher than life because life is life with others, life is a relationship, and
religion is a non-relationship. It is higher than life. It is the capacity to be alone. It is total
independence from the other. Unless you are ready to sacrifice life to it, unless you are ready
to die completely as you have been up to now, you are not ready. In that readiness, a small
message can become so powerful that it can transform you.
