HIP – WELCOME SPEECH
Excellency Madam Zainun binti Muda, The Principal of SMK Taman Tasik,
Honorable Tuan Haji Zulhasnan, The Senior Assistant of Administration,
Puan Noorafidah binti Ariffin, The Senior Assistant of Co-Curriculum,
Puan Norhayati, The Senior Assistant of Students Affair,
fellow teachers and dearest students.
Assalamualaikum wrhmtullahiwabarakatuh and a very good morning to all.
I am honoured to be here this morning, in conjunction of The Highly Immersive
Programme, or mostly known as HIP. This programme is a continuous all year-round
programme, aiming to improve the English proficiency of students in this school.
The objective of this programme is to create a highly immersive environment, in
order to encourage pupils to learn English at school. In addition to that, this HIP programme
is aiming to increase the usage and mastery of English language among students. Besides, it
is also conducted as to encourage active involvement among parents and the community,
by using English, be it at home or at school.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I would like to share an interesting quote by a renowned linguist, Steve Kauffman. The quote
goes like this: “For every language we learn, is a door opening up to a new world”.
With regards to that, our school, SMK Taman Tasik has been striving for the
excellence of English proficiency among pupils and that brings us to our programme this
morning. Moreover, it is our hope that every student aspires towards self-betterment in all
aspects.
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is indeed a great honour to have our distinguished speaker today, to come on
stage and deliver her motivational talk, ‘To Educate the Heart and Mind on the Importance
of English Language’.

We are here today for the closing ceremony of the motivational talk: To Educate the Heart
and Mind on The Importance of English Language.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Every journey has its end and every path does stop somewhere. This programme had been
conducted since this morning, targeting pupils of both the morning and the afternoon
sessions. Pupils have realized the importance of the English language and this, has sparked
the interest and aspired the SMK Taman Tasik students to be more proficient and
competent in English.
Without further ado, I would like to welcome The Senior Assistant of the Afternoon Session,
Puan Salasiah to give a token of appreciation to our distinguished speaker of the day.
Ladies and gentlemen,
our programme today would not be realized if not for our guest speaker who has been
passionately giving talk and great advice pertaining to mastering the English language. For
that, I would like to invite Dr. Monzair Piara Singh Sekhon, to get on stage.
With that, we have come to the end of our programme. On behalf of the organizer, I would
like to thank everyone who is involved in making this programme a success.
