Statement of the Problem
This study aims to address the gap by delving into the lived
experiences of STEM Students who struggled in Calculus.
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:
1. What is the demographic profile of STEM Students in terms of:
1.1 Sex,
1.2 Grade Level,
1.3 G.W.A. in Pre-Calculus?
2. What are the difficulties experienced by STEM students in learning
Calculus in terms of:
2.1 Foundational Knowledge,
2.2 Conceptual Understanding,
2.3 Emotional Factors,
2.4 Psychological Factors, and
2.5 Environmental Factors?
3 .How do STEM Students feel towards calculus and in what ways their
attitudes and perceptions influence their motivation and performance
in the subject?
4. What are the common gaps and patterns of the lived experiences of
STEM Students in facing Calculus?
