You may include data or literature to explain your claims.)
1. What are the fundamental principles that you have learned from the topics discussed?

This module emphasizes several crucial principles for effective education. First, it underscores the
need for equity and inclusion, ensuring equal opportunities for all learners regardless of their
background, abilities, or circumstances. This involves creating a learning environment where diversity
is celebrated and every student feels valued and supported. The Matatag Curriculum and the focus on
inclusive practices within the BE-LCP reflect this principle. Second, the module recognizes that
education should go beyond academic knowledge and encompass the development of students'
social-emotional skills, character, and well-being. The intensified values education and strengthened
peace education components of the Matatag Curriculum, as well as the focus on SEL in the BE-LCP,
exemplify this principle. Third, the module highlights the importance of aligning education with the
needs of the 21st century, equipping students with skills and knowledge relevant to the modern world
and preparing them for future challenges. The Matatag Curriculum's focus on 21st-century skills and
the emphasis on career progression for teachers reflect this principle. Finally, the module emphasizes
the need for ongoing assessment, evaluation, and reform in the education system to address
emerging challenges and ensure its effectiveness. The establishment of EDCOM II and the ongoing
development and implementation of the MELCs demonstrate this principle.

2. How do these courses/topics help your academic journey as a professional or future school
head?
These topics are crucial for my academic journey as a future school head. Understanding and applying these
principles will be essential for creating a welcoming and inclusive school, fostering holistic development,
preparing students for the future, and leading continuous improvement. Specifically, I will focus on
developing policies and programs that promote equity and inclusion for all students, regardless of their
background or abilities. I will also integrate SEL into the curriculum, promote a positive school climate, and
encourage activities that develop students' social-emotional skills. Furthermore, I will ensure that the
curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century by incorporating
21st-century skills and providing opportunities for career exploration. Finally, I will stay informed about
educational trends, evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs, and actively seek opportunities for
improvement within the school.
3. What action will I take to apply what I have learned?

To effectively apply these principles, I will implement a comprehensive action plan. First, I will conduct a
school-wide audit to assess the school's current policies and practices to identify areas for improvement in
equity, inclusion, and holistic development. Second, I will develop and implement a comprehensive SEL
program, providing training for teachers on SEL strategies, implementing SEL activities in the curriculum,
and creating a school-wide culture that promotes emotional intelligence and social skills. Third, I will review
and update the curriculum to ensure it is aligned with 21st-century skills and relevant to the needs of the
students and the community. Fourth, I will establish a School-Based Improvement Team to regularly evaluate
the school's effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Finally, I will continuously research and learn
about new developments in education, including best practices and innovative approaches.

4. Cite instances where the topics had been applied in your current station.

In our school, our teachers are really good at using technology to help us learn. They use interactive
whiteboards to make lessons more fun and engaging. We also use online learning platforms to do our
homework and research projects. Sometimes we even get to work together on projects where we have to use
computers to find information and share our ideas. And we have a special computer lab, so we can learn how
to use different programs.
