MAJOR In looking at the positive effect of using social media, both male and female
FINDINGS respondents agreed that it is always useful in keeping connections with family
members away from home. Male respondents stated that social media was useful
in keeping in touch with their cousins and as a source of information especially in
searching for answers in their assignment. Female respondents perceived that
social media was useful in keeping connections with family members, relatives, and
friends as well as a great source of information that could help them in their
studies. On the negative side, male and female respondents admitted that social
media makes them dependent on gadgets specifically on search engines in doing
their homework. Moreover, respondents agreed that with the use of social media,
they have lost their time for reviewing their lessons. Also, they admitted that they
have lost time for face-to-face interaction with their parents and other members of
the family.

MAJOR Drawing on data from interviews and the multimodal discourse analysis of TikTok
FINDINGS profiles, videos and captions, it pays particular attention to how recognizing these
practices not as exotic or creative transgressions but as ordinary or normative
(Agha, 2007) can enable a critical understanding of the lived experiences of these
transnationals. Findings show that as they move across social media platforms and
make linguistic and semiotic choices involving practical and material considerations,
they perform moments of interaction or “small things” (Blommaert, 2019) online
that are not unlike their mundane, offline counterparts. Moving across languages
online is a way for users to negotiate multiple identities, position others, address
diverse audiences, and signal group affiliations. By examining translingual
interactions on social media as normative but negotiated across different orders of
indexicality, this paper asserts that such reframing can draw attention to historical
and material inequalities and modes of exclusion online.

MAJOR There is a significant relationship between the respondents' social media exposure
FINDINGS and their level of radical involvement. This research demonstrates how a broader
and more advanced understanding of youth’s radical political participation
associated with more comprehensive measures of social media use can help better
understand the role of digital platforms in influencing political participatory
behavior and awareness among the internet generation.
CONCLUSION The students nowadays lack the socio-cultural aspects of communicating. They
speak to elders as if they're the same age, or speak to a corporate person
informally. They don't get exposed as much now in social events that they don't
know what language style to use appropriately in certain social situations. A
solution to this would be practicing speaking to different kinds of people and be
aware of what kind of language they are using.
