General Instruction.

Solve the following problems and provide your complete

solution. Do not forget to box your final answers and encircle the correct
letter on the questionnaire.

Problem 1.
Find the general solution of (x+2y-1)dx – (2x +y-5)dy = 0
a. (x + y + 4)2 = C(x + y - 2)
b. (x – y - 4)2 = C(x + y + 2)
c. (x – y + 4)2 = C(x + y + 2)
d. (x – y - 4)2 = C(x + y – 2)

Problem 2.
Find the general solution of (2x – 3y + 4)dx + 3(x-1)dy = 0
a. 3(y-2) = -2(x-1)ln(x-1) + C(x-1)
b. 3(y+2) = -2(x+1)ln(x-1) + C(x-1)
c. 3(y-2) = -2(x-1)ln(x+1) + C(x+1)
d. 3(y+2) = -2(x+1)ln(x-1) + C(x+1)

Problem 3.
Find the general solution of (2x + 3y -1)dx + (2x + 3y +2)dy = 0
General Instruction. Solve the following problems and provide your complete
solution. Do not forget to box your final answers.

Problem 1.
Radium decomposes at a rate proportional to the quantity of radium present.
Suppose it is found that in 25 years approximately 1.1% of a certain quantity
has decomposed. Determine approximately how long it will take for one half of
the original amount of radium to decompose. (25pts)

Problem 2.
A bacteria is known to have a rate of growth proportional to itself. If between
noon and 2PM the bacteria triples, at what time, should be the bacteria
become 100 times what it is at noon? (25pts)

Problem 3.
A thermometer reading 75⁰F is taken out where the temperature is 20⁰F. The
reading is 30⁰F 4 minutes later.
a) Find the temperature reading 7 minutes after the thermometer was brought
outside. (25pts)

Problem 4.
2. At 9AM, a thermometer reading 70⁰F is taken outdoors, where the
temperature is 15⁰F. At 9:05AM, the thermometer reading is 45⁰F. At 9:10AM,
the thermometer is taken back indoors, where the temperature is fixed at
70⁰F.
a) Find the reading at 9:20 AM. (25pts)
