Common questions

Powered by AI

Fluency in English is likely required to facilitate effective communication within the diverse and potentially global teams at STMicroelectronics, as well as to understand and interact with technical documentation, research, and stakeholders involved in AI projects .

The job description indicates the importance of both collaborative and independent work by requiring a 'self-directed work ethic' for contributing within a 'collaborative environment.' This balance ensures that the intern can autonomously conduct research and problem-solving while also integrating their work with team objectives to drive project success .

The job description highlights creativity as an essential quality by specifying the need for 'out of the box thinking' and a 'self-directed work ethic.' This indicates the role involves exploring and evaluating various possibilities in Generative AI, thereby requiring the intern to think independently and contribute creatively within a collaborative environment .

Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is relevant because it equips candidates with the skills needed to design, implement, and fine-tune neural network models. This capability is essential for developing and validating generative AI models and solutions efficiently .

Familiarity with NLP and machine learning is crucial for developing generative AI models that can handle textual data and learn from vast datasets to provide accurate and efficient solutions. These concepts form the backbone of tasks like identifying appropriate models and fine-tuning them as required in the role .

Applicants must possess an M.Tech or M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from a reputed institute. They should have strong programming skills in Python, familiarity with NLP and machine learning concepts, and experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. Fluency in English and good problem-solving skills are also required .

Conducting POCs is vital as it allows the intern to test potential solutions in a controlled environment, ensuring feasibility and effectiveness before full-scale deployment. This process helps in identifying issues early, saving resources, and providing validated insights to enhance the success and reliability of AI initiatives at the company .

Python programming skills are significant because they enable the intern to develop and implement generative AI models and algorithms. Python is widely used in data science and machine learning for its libraries and frameworks, making it essential for conducting POCs and building MVPs .

The mission description outlines tasks such as designing and implementing generative AI models, identifying appropriate LLM or foundation models, fine-tuning them for specific use cases, preparing necessary data pipelines, and conducting POCs or building MVPs to validate solutions. These tasks enable exploration and development of deployable solutions .

'Fine-tuning them to solve the Use Case' implies that the intern's role entails adapting pre-existing LLM or foundation models specifically to address unique challenges or goals of STMicroelectronics. This involves in-depth understanding of use cases, modifying models to improve performance and alignment with specific data requirements or business objectives .
