A candidate who has passed the Intermediate level examination of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India may register for the Intermediate course under the Direct Entry Scheme. They must have either completed, or be completing, eight months of study course as per the eligibility criteria outlined .

Candidates must declare the accuracy of the information provided in their application form, acknowledging that their admission will be invalidated upon any false declarations. The application includes a formal declaration, where candidates affirm the completeness and correctness to the best of their knowledge, thereby ensuring accountability and integrity in the application process .

Candidates are responsible for ensuring their practical training commences on or before specified dates related to their examination session, as failure to do so may impact their eligibility status. This call to action ensures compliance with the examination regulation timelines and integrates theoretical knowledge with practical exposure .

Candidates who were previously registered for the erstwhile Intermediate (IPC) and did not qualify can transition to the Direct Entry Scheme. This transition allows them to continue their studies without restarting, provided they meet study course and practical training requirements as part of the Direct Entry framework. This approach facilitates continuity in professional education .

Completing articleship is crucial as it forms part of the eligibility for the Intermediate Examination under different registration modes. For example, candidates registered through the Direct Entry Scheme must complete or be completing nine months of articleship and study course, which is a mandate for eligibility. This period provides practical training which is integral to the course's professional preparation objectives .

Candidates partially completing the Intermediate through the CPT route without passing both groups can switch to the Direct Entry Scheme, offering an alternate pathway to fulfill course requirements and practical training. This switch allows continuation in the Chartered Accountancy program without loss of prior efforts .

The registration date and chosen route influence not only eligibility but also logistical aspects such as exam center allocation. The timely completion of prerequisites like study courses and practical training tied to specific dates ensures alignment with available exam sessions at desired centers, reflecting structured progression through the Chartered Accountants program .

Exam center preferences accommodate candidates' geographical and logistical considerations, ensuring accessibility and reducing travel constraints. This facilitates smoother administrative processes and provides candidates the ability to select centers closer to their academic or residential locations, thereby optimizing fairness and convenience in the examination process .

The registration modes vary, including routes through the CPT, Direct Entry Scheme, and conversions from equivalent courses, reflecting an adaptable approach to eligibility for diverse candidate backgrounds. This adaptability accommodates varying academic and professional experiences, offering pathways aligned with candidates' prior qualifications and experiences .

The Direct Entry Scheme allows candidates who are graduates, postgraduates, or have equivalent qualifications from recognized institutes like the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or Institute of Company Secretaries of India to register for the Intermediate course directly, provided they complete required months of articleship and study course. In contrast, the CPT/FOUNDATION route requires candidates to pass an entrance test followed by securing registration for Intermediate .
