INDICES RULES
1: When base are multiplied their powers will be allowed on one base.
a^m x a^n = a^mn
2: When same bases are divided their powers will be subtracted on one
base .
a^m/a^n = a^m-n
3: If there are two powers of one base then powers will be multiplied.
(X^m)^n = X^mn
4: Any base with power 0 is always considered 1.
(2/3)^0 = 1
5: If power is negative to make it positive use reciprocal.
(2/3)^-2 = (3/2)^2 = 9/4
6: If power is in fraction then first factorize the base and simplify it/
- (8)^2/3 = (2^3)^2/3 = (2^-3-)^2/-3- = 2^2 =4
- (27/8) ^ 2/3 =(3^3/2^3)^2/3 = (multiply with both and simplify 3) =
3^2/2^2 = 9/4
7: If any term is in root first of all change root to indices by using
formula and Simplifying.
root√x → (x)1/root
3√8 → (8)^1/3
(2^3)^1/3 = (3 exponent and 3 denominator are simplified.
2^1=2
8: Power on t brackets is power of all terms inside bracket
a)(a^2b/c^3)^2 = a^4 b^2/c^6
b) a^m x b^m = (a x b)^m
3^2 x 4^2 = (3 x 4)^2= 12^2 = 144
9: To solve indices equation first separate Indices term, then factorize
the base and by comparison solve it.
Example:Solve
2x^3=250
x^3=250/2
x^3=5^3
x=5
