Data Collection Methods and Procedures
This study employed a quantitative approach to collect data from selected inns and
motels in Cubao, Quezon City. To ensure the validity of the study, the researchers sought
written permission from the management of the participating inns and motels.
The researchers obtained written permission from the management of the participating inns
and motels to conduct the study, last week of October. The researchers will start conducting
a survey questionnaire with the managers, and staff of the selected inns and motels to
collect data during the first week of November 2024. The process of collecting data should
be done by the second week of November. After all data was collected, the researchers
will examine, analyze, and interpret the data until the third week of november.
Sampling methods
The population of the study will be the 20 selected inns and motels in Cubao,
Quezon City. The researchers selected a total of 40 participants based on the purpose of
the study. Each inn and motels should have at least 3 respondents. The coverage of this
survey was specifically made for managers, staffs with age of 21 to 35 and 35 to 45 years
old within the vicinity of Cubao, Quezon City.
The study used stratified sampling which is a process of sampling where the
researchers divide the population into subgroups. This is suitable for the study because it
ensures that various subgroups within the population of inns and motels are properly
represented. Since the factors influencing innovation can differ greatly among different
types of establishments such as budget versus luxury inns, or those serving business
travelers compared to tourists, using a stratified approach will help identify these differences
and yield more detailed insights into the barriers to innovation. Researchers can collect
more relevant and specific data by dividing the people into different sectors based on
factors like size, service type, and target market. By allowing a more thorough examination
of the factors that hinder innovation, including financial limitations, management styles, and
market competition, this method improves the findings’ dependability.
