ACTIVITY 1.

Instruction: Using the criteria given, evaluate the language of the


following sample academic texts from various disciplines. Write your answer on a
separate sheet required by the teacher.

A. This essay intends to investigate whether there is a causal relationship


between music listened to and the mood of individuals. Additionally, it will
seek to explore whether this relationship is used in advertising to encourage
people to spend money.
