Research Methodology

1. Research Design

The purpose of this study is to investigate and evaluate consumer satisfaction with meal delivery services using a
descriptive research design. By emphasising quality, efficiency, and overall experience, this study aims to shed light
on how these elements affect consumer attitudes and actions. Understanding trends and patterns in customer
satisfaction levels within a certain sample group is possible using descriptive research.

2. Research Objectives

The specific objectives of this research are:

1. To assess the quality of food delivered in terms of freshness, taste, and accuracy of orders.

2. To evaluate the efficiency of the food delivery process, including delivery speed, real-time tracking, and ease
of order placement.

3. To examine the overall experience provided by food delivery services, including customer support, app
usability, and value for money.

3. Population and Sampling

 Target Population: Participants in this study must be at least 18 years old and have utilised meal delivery
services at least once in the last three months. This guarantees that the experiences that participants share
are current and pertinent.

 Sample Size: For this study, a total of 60 respondents were chosen. It is believed that this sample size is
sufficient to produce significant and comprehensible findings.

 Sampling Technique: To select participants who are available and willing to participate, a non-probability
convenience sampling method is used. Although there might be some generalisability issues with this
method, it is effective and useful for exploratory research of this kind.

4. Data Collection Methods

 Primary Data Source: Data is collected through a structured questionnaire designed to capture both
quantitative and qualitative aspects of customer satisfaction.

 Questionnaire Design: The questionnaire is divided into sections corresponding to the research objectives:

o Section 1: Demographic Information (age, gender, frequency of food delivery use).

o Section 2: Satisfaction with Food Quality (freshness, taste, packaging, accuracy).

o Section 3: Satisfaction with Service Efficiency (delivery speed, tracking, ease of use).

o Section 4: Overall Experience (customer support, value for money, app interface).

o Likert scale questions (1 = Strongly Dissatisfied to 5 = Strongly Satisfied) are used to quantify
satisfaction levels. Open-ended questions are included for additional feedback.

5. Data Collection Process

The survey is conducted online using platforms such as Google Forms to ensure easy access for respondents.
Participants are invited via email and social media, ensuring a diverse range of respondents. A response period of
two weeks is provided for survey completion.

6. Variables and Measures

 Independent Variables: Food quality, service efficiency, and user interface.

 Dependent Variable: Overall customer satisfaction with the food delivery service.
Key performance indicators include delivery time, food packaging quality, app usability, and responsiveness of
customer support.

7. Frequency Distribution:

 Used to calculate the percentage of respondents who fall into each category of satisfaction (e.g., strongly
satisfied, satisfied, neutral).

 Represented in tables or graphs (e.g., pie charts or bar graphs) for visual interpretation.

8. Visualization Tools

Descriptive statistics will be presented using graphical representations to enhance understanding:

 Bar Graphs: To show satisfaction levels across various factors (e.g., quality, efficiency).

 Pie Charts: To represent the proportion of respondents in each satisfaction category.

9. Data Analysis

The data is analysed using statistical tools to extract meaningful insights:

 Descriptive Statistics: Frequencies, means, and standard deviations are calculated to summarize satisfaction
levels.

10. Measures of Central Tendency:

 Mean: To calculate the average level of satisfaction across respondents for each factor (e.g., quality of food,
delivery speed).

 Median: To identify the middle satisfaction score, providing insight into the typical experience.

 Mode: To identify the most frequent responses, highlighting commonly shared experiences.

Cross-Tabulation:

 To analyse relationships between demographic characteristics (e.g., age, gender, frequency of use) and
satisfaction levels.

 For instance, comparing satisfaction levels across different age groups to identify trends.

8. Ethical Considerations

 Respondents are informed about the purpose of the study and their rights to withdraw at any time.

 Confidentiality and anonymity are assured to protect the privacy of participants.

 Data is stored securely and used exclusively for research purposes.

9. Limitations of the Study

 The use of a convenience sampling method may limit the generalizability of the findings.

 A relatively small sample size (60 respondents) may not fully capture the diversity of customer experiences
across different regions or demographics.

This detailed research methodology ensures a comprehensive understanding of customer satisfaction with food
delivery services while maintaining methodological rigor and ethical standards.
