My name is Lynet Machakwa. I am the only child in my family.

My parents
are both self-employed. Attended high school in 2021 on the 28th of
February and finished on the 28th of October 2022. Away from my studies,
my school taught me to become an enthusiastic basket player. Last year in
high school I won the prize for the most valuable player. Being a basket
baller has taught me effective communication and teamwork skills. I enjoy
being physically and mentally challenged from playing basketball. I hope that
these skills will become useful at your university as well as extending my
friendship group.

It is my wish to study in Canada because Canada has a reputation for

providing high-quality education in business administration, with world-class
universities and business schools offering courses that are accredited by
recognized national and international bodies. Graduates from Canadian
universities are highly regarded by employers worldwide. Also, Canada is one
of the most multicultural countries in the world, with a welcoming and
inclusive society. Studying there will thus offer me the opportunity to
experience a diverse cultural environment, interact with people from
different backgrounds, and develop a global perspective. It has a high
standard of living, offering a safe and healthy environment for students to
live and study.

In regard to my educational prospects, after attaining my bachelor’s degree I

want to proceed to a master’s degree in business administration, this is
because an MBA can prepare me for higher-level management roles and
increase my earning potential. As I have mentioned above, Canada has some
of the best universities that provide students with a valuable learning
experience which is why I would like to pursue a business degree there, as I
will be receiving a quality education that is widely recognized. Also, a degree
from a Canadian university is highly regarded globally, and it will open up
more job opportunities worldwide, whilst a degree from a Zimbabwean
university may not be as well recognized globally, which could limit my
opportunities outside of Zimbabwe. Also, Canada is a multicultural and
diverse country, and from what I gather, its universities have students from
all parts of the world, and this will provide me with an opportunity to network
with people from different backgrounds and cultures and this will expand my
horizons.

Zimbabwe has a robust financial sector, and banks and financial institutions
need business professionals to manage their operations. With a business
administration I can find employment opportunities as bankers, financial
analysts, accountants, or financial advisors. Some of the leading banks and
financial institutions in Zimbabwe include Standard Chartered Bank
Zimbabwe, First Capital Bank, and Steward Bank. Also, Zimbabwe has a
growing demand for marketing and advertising professionals who can help
businesses reach their target audiences. BBA graduates can find
employment opportunities as marketing managers, marketing analysts, or
advertising specialists in various industries, including telecommunications,
manufacturing, and retail.

Before applying I have done my research on the tertiary education system in

Zimbabwe for business administration and the program is offered by various
universities and colleges. Some of the prominent institutions in the field of
business administration include the University of Zimbabwe, Midlands State
University, and the Zimbabwe Open University. While these institutions offer
quality education, there are several reasons why I chose to study in Canada
instead of Zimbabwe. From the information I have been able to gather,
Canadian universities and colleges have better infrastructure and resources
compared to those in Zimbabwe. This includes state-of-the-art facilities,
modern classrooms, and advanced technology that enhances learning. Also,
a degree from a Canadian university or college is recognized globally and
carries more weight in the job market. On the other hand, a degree from
Zimbabwe may not carry the same level of recognition, which could pose
challenges when trying to find employment internationally. And Canadian
universities and colleges provide students with opportunities for hands-on
experience through internships, co-op programs, and field placements. This
practical experience is highly valued by employers, giving graduates an
advantage in the job market. advanced technology that enhances learning.
Also, a degree from a Canadian university or college is recognized globally
and carries more weight in the job market.

Currently the only ties i have with my country are with my family and
parents. BBA career has entrepreneurial potential. Upon return to my home
country, through this program, i will be able to start up my own companies
especially in the city i currently live as it has few job opportunities since most
people are self-employed and redevelop my city and other cities too, by
opening up more places with outdoor activities which are very limited.
