European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) is a Pan-European multi-stakeholder

EuroDIG held its first meeting on 20–21 October 2008 and was initiated by Internet

Council of Europe was among the institutions which supported this idea from the beginning
and offered to host the first meeting in the Palais de l'Europe in Strasbourg, the

the global IGF, but even more it aims to reach out to all concerned groups and facilitated an
inclusive debate about the governance of the internet by encouraging cooperation to solve

The central administration of EuroDIG is its secretariat, which is responsible for

In 2021, the forum counted 703 registrations for the 3-day long virtual meeting, of which
470 actually attended the [Link] addition, more people took part via live [Link] more
than 50% of the participants, it was the first EuroDIG they [Link], 10% of the
participants were members or representatives of governments, whereas nearly a fourth of
the 470 people attended from civil [Link] than 20% of the attendants identified as
[Link], nearly 13% of the participants came from the private sector and the
technical community, [Link] about 6% of the participants represented inter-
governmental [Link] 2021, special greeting words were held by Patrick
Penninckx (Head of Information Society Department, Council of Europe), Ana Persic

the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies) and
Delphine Ernotte (Director General France Télévisions and President of EBU).While there
was a small overlap of male participants in 2021 (50,6%), nearly 45% of the attendants
were females (44,1%).The remaining 5,3% of the participants did not want to state their

YouthDIG
Each year, EuroDIG holds a preparatory youth event for interested individuals in the age
between 18–[Link] this YouthDIG the participants are taught about Internet Governance and
develop policy messages which are presented at the following EuroDIG and during the
[Link] young people are invited to exchange as well as discuss ideas with experienced
Internet policy [Link], they get the opportunity to connect with peers
throughout Europe who have similar interests.== Relationship to other Internet

EuroDIG was established, with support from the Council of Europe, Swiss OFCOM and other
stakeholders, following the commissioning of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) by the
Secretary General of the United Nations in [Link] debates and messages are fed into the
