their learning while a well maintained and organized campus encourage students to attend and participate.
Students are given the tools and privileged to learn.

How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How does this relate to
your knowledge of facilitating learning?

Students learn easily if they were exposed to a friendly atmosphere and free from distractions. They could
easily learn if the teacher uses a variety of learning materials that motivate them always. For example,
teacher must follow the methods and techniques that are best for students to learn and see if it effective,
reflect and improve the teaching practices.

My Proposed Board Display

Theme: School-Related Topic

Board Title: DISCOVER

Rationale:
(Purpose)
The purpose of my proposed board display are to showcase with the information they need to know
about school related matters such as achievements, upcoming events, and opportunities.
Highlighting the school life offers and numerous benefits like knowledge, skills and values in the
future.

Objectives:

To provide the school’s teachers, students and visitors with the information on the school
achievements, upcoming events, and opportunities offers an interesting side of learning.

Best features of my proposed bulletin enhancement:

I plan to use a modern and visually design, a combination of text, graphics and photographs. I
would like to add QR codes or links to provide additional information or access to online resources.
By incorporating the links I will add some interesting puzzle games that may help improve their
learning.

Content resources (Name each needed resource and give each a brief description):

By showing the achievements, events and opportunities. I will add a plan that help to track their
likes so they participate on upcoming events. I aim to create a display board that is informative,
resourceful, and inspiring by tracking students’ interaction and feedback to assess the effectiveness
of the display board and make necessary adjustments to ensure that the audience will find it useful.

Materials for aesthetic enhancement:

For the materials I prepared to submit since a detailed proposal outlining the necessary material and
costs for enhancing the display board. I can demonstrate to responsible spending and increase the
likelihood of securing the necessary funds for the display board enhancement.
REFLECT

1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective board
displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.

Innovative: I believe that the teacher should try new things even if the topic assigned for bulletin
board display is old. The teacher should be able to produce something fresh, new, different, and
interesting that can capture the attention of the students.
Resourceful: Not all schools provide everything for the set-up of bulletin boards. Hence, a
teacher should be able to deal skillfully despite the lack of resources.
Creative: There are an abundance of resources available over the Internet to enhance the
creativity of the teacher. Through creativity, the bulletin board can easily capture the attention
and the eyes of the students.
Tech-Equipped: It is important to be updated with resources that are available over the Internet.
A lot of useful data are being shared online by fellow teachers. The key is to select the
appropriate resources for your target audience.
Organization: The content and outline of the bulletin board should be well thought of. There
should be a balance between photos and texts.

2. Which of the skills you named in # 1 do you already have? Recall your past experiences in
making board displays. How do you practice these skills?
I believe that I am organized, resourceful, and tech-equipped. I have become more selective of
information that I provide to my students. I have developed the skill to separate and use only the
most useful and important data. Lastly, as far as technology is concerned, I learn how to weight
whether the available online resources are useful and appropriate to my students or not. I also
ensure that what I display in the bulletin board is also discussed in the classroom.

3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how you can
improve on or acquire these skills?
I have to admit that I am not really a creative person when it comes to drawing or coloring but I
always try my best in what I do. I believe that these skills can be developed over time through
constant practice.
