Types of Corruption
1. Political Corruption: It involves the improper use of power by public officials.
2. Business Corruption: Occurs when companies use illegal practices to obtain
competitive advantages.
3. Administrative Corruption: It manifests itself in inefficient management and misuse
of public resources.
WE CAN DEFINE CORRUPTION AS:
• Situation or circumstance in which public officials or other authorities are corrupted.
• public are A manifestation of institutional weaknesses, low moral standards, biased
incentives and lack of application of the Law.
• The term corruption encompasses nepotism and favoritism in matters of personnel
hiring and promotion in the public sector.
CAUSES
• Minimum salary for public workers makes them look for other ways to get money.

• The little interest of people in participating in acts of supervision and evaluation of
public management.
• The lack of professional service that supervises the actions of the authorities.
CONSEQUENCES
• It can harm the functioning of public institutions.
• Laws that can be of great help in society can be eliminated.
• Fewer investors for our country.
• It allows the approval and operation of laws, programs and policies, without popular
support or legitimacy.
• It revitalizes a culture of corruption and contributes to its proliferation.
Types of corruption
There are various types of corruption, from extortion and bribery to those that refer to
specific and special types. These types are:
Extortion
It is when a public servant, taking advantage of his position and under threat, forces the user
of a public service to give him a reward.
BRIBERY:
It is when a citizen or an organization gives a public servant a certain amount of money, with
the purpose of obtaining a favorable response to a procedure or request, regardless of
whether or not it complied with the established legal requirements.
EXAMPLE
