Criminal liability means the police could charge you with a crime.

Civil liability means that an individual can sue you for damages. This means that if a court decides you
have been negligent, you could be held responsible for property damage or personal injury in the
lawsuit. This also includes any lawsuit brought by an innocent third party who was injured by an
intoxicated guest.

civilly liable in three ways

You could be held liable if you sell alcohol to intoxicated individuals (Under the LLCA:), fail to prevent
harm (Court Ruling of Negligence), or don't maintain a safe environment according to these laws (Under
OLA).

Vicarious Liability: even if an employer is diligent, they can still be held accountable for what their
employees do. Meanwhile, employees can also face their own legal consequences for their actions.

Incident Report:

 Purpose: An incident report is a record of an event that happened in your establishment and
how you dealt with it.
 Timing: It's important to fill out the report while the details are still fresh in everyone's mind.
 Legal Importance: The report might be used as evidence if the situation leads to legal
proceedings.
