Introduction
Access to mental health services in underserved communities is limited due to factors like
financial constraints, lack of professionals, and geographic barriers. This project aims to address these
challenges and provide equitable mental health care for marginalized populations.
Purpose/Need
The project seeks to bridge the gap in mental health services for underserved communities,
where a shortage of providers result in severe consequences for those in need.
Project Description
The project will involve community awareness campaigns, training health workers, establishing
mobile clinics and telehealth services, and creating sustainable solutions for mental health care.
Goals/Objectives/Aims/Research Question
The goal is to improve mental health outcomes in underserved communities by increasing access
to services. Objectives include training health workers, reaching individuals through awareness
campaigns, and implementing mobile and telehealth services.
Methods and Timeline
The project will begin with a needs assessment, followed by awareness campaigns and training,
then implementation of services, and finally monitoring and evaluation over a 30-month period.
Expected Outcomes/Benefits
The project aims to increase mental health awareness, improve access to care for thousands,
train local health workers, and create sustainable mental health service delivery models.
Budget/Needs & Requested Support
The total budget is 6.5 million, covering training, infrastructure, outreach, and evaluation, with
support requested in the form of grants and in-kind contributions.
