at a particular place is
called Biodiversity.
If a habitat is diverse more
types of plants and animals
can survive next to each
other.
Importance of Biodiversity
Plants and animals do not have to compete for the same
food, water, and shelter in a particular habitat.
Extinct Animals
The types of
animals and plants
no longer found in
the world are called
extinct.

Conservation is the protection of things
found in nature.
It requires the sensible use of all Earth’s
natural resources: water, soil, minerals,
wild life and forests.
Importance of Conservation
The most obvious reason for conservation is to protect
wildlife and promote biodiversity.
Protecting wildlife and preserving it for future
generations also means that the animals we love don't
become extinct.
conservation not only protects native plants , birds and
animals but also protects us.
A Game Reserve
A game reserve is a large
area of land where wild
animals live safely.
It is also known as game
park.
In some reserves, animals
are hunted in a controlled
way.
Mangroves
Mangroves are small trees
that grow in coastal areas.
They act as nurseries for
marine animals such as fish,
crabs, prawns etc.
They reduce the smoke and
pollution of the city.

Ans: The different kinds of organisms found in any particular

Ans: Conservation of biodiversity is necessary because many
organisms are now endangered. By conserving biodiversity,
