Section A
I was much loved in the family and also in the village, Belause I was the only son and because I was the
youngest child, I was given so much love and attention that I became spoilt. I hardly ever sat or crawled
on the floor. I was always on somebody's back. My eldest sister, Oyindamola was very fond of me.
Wherever she went and whatever she was doing, she carried me on her back, with my little hands
gripping her armpits very lightly, I slept there most of the time and when I was not sleeping, I played
with her long hair. Every night i did not go to sleep unless she placed my face downward her chest.
I adored her, If she did not feed me, I would not eat. She gave me all sorts of things to eat at odd times
of the day and night. My parents were pleased with this friendship that grew between my sister and i,
she was everything to me. If she fell ill, I always know. I stood by her and she too held on to me. In my
later life and in my wanderings, she was the cord which threw me back home.
