1. Define the Shaper Machine?
• A shaper is a tool used to remove thin layers
from surfaces, such as wood or metal. A shaper
is used in manual and industrial work to smooth
surfaces or remove rough or harmful.

2. Mention with the drawing the types of shapers

• Scraper shaper

• The cart shaper


3. What is the mechanism of a shaper machine?
• It is two gears meshed. The arm is fixed away
from the center of the gear at a distance equal to
the length of the crocodile’s journey. When the
gears are turned, and because the connection
arm is not fixed in the center, a reciprocating
movement occurs.

4. What is the application of a shaper machine?

• Shaping flat surfaces


• Cutting keyways, slots, and grooves

• producing external gears
