Transport Request
Transport Request: It acts as a Carrier of the Configuration Settings from One System
to another system or One client to another client under the same Landscape.
EX: Development to Quality, Golden Client to Testing Client Under [Link].
Transport Request are two types
1. Customized Transport Request: Most requests are generated if we make
configuration changes to meet the scenario. (Using Tcode-SPRO)
2. Workbench Transport Request: These are normally development Requests or
requests generated during customization such that they impact all clients on the
same server.
Let’s Create a Customization Request by doing the changes using the T code SPRO
(New P.O. Doc Type Creation copying from Standard)
Path: SPRO >>SAP Ref IMG >> Material Management >> Purchasing >> Purchase order
>> Define Doc types.

We Create the new Doc type ZRM0 by Copying from the Standard Doc type from NB
After making the necessary changes on the Required P.O Doc Type and Clicking on the
Save Button System pop-up a window with a Customized Transport request.
If we want to Create a New Transport Request for the changes in the configuration
Click on the Create New / Highlighted button
Then you can create a New Customized request with a Description of the changes that
you made.

Click on the Highlighted button then data gets saved with a new customization request
Number.

If we want to see the Custom requests created by the User go to T code: SE10
You can get the Transport Requests created by the User and under Modifiable Type
We can make changes to the Modifiable transport requests.

Let’s do the Modification for the created Customization request No: Y01K902561
We need to change the Number ranges for the customized Doc type ZRM0.
Let’s go to Number range Assignment for P.O Doc type
Path: SPRO >>SAP Ref IMG >> Material Management >> Purchasing >> Purchase order
>>Define Number Ranges.

Go to the Intervals tab and check for Free Intervals availability Assign a unique number
for that number Range and Click on Save.
Then check in the Number ranges RZ is available or not.

Go to Define Doc type for P.O >> Search for Customized Doc type RZM0 and Assign the
defined Number range RZ in the concerned field.
Then, the System Pops up a window with a Custom request. In that field, enter the
previous customized request number and save the data.
If you change the Selection of Fields from SE10 then you can find both Modifiable and
Released Customized Requests.

In the above-mentioned, the Green Colour Highlighted T.R is the Main T.R number
The yellow Colour Highlighted T.R. is the Subtask Number.
If we want to change the Description of the T.R we can do that before releasing the T.R
Changing the T.R Description:
Select the T.R. number and double-click on it.

We can change the T.R. description as per the Requirement and Save the changes.

T.R Releasing Process:
To release a Transport Request, we need to release the Following Sub task named
Customizing task followed by the Customizing request next number as Shown above.

If we want to Release the T.R Y01K902561 we need to Release the Sub Task first or else
the system will throw an Error Message.
As mentioned earlier Select the Sub task and click on selected Option Release
Directly.
Now go to Main task Y01K902561 and click on the Option to release the T.R

Note: The Difference between the Modifiable and Released and Transport requests are
We can’t make any changes to the released Transport requests, if we want to make
the changes on the same field, we need to create a new Customization and follow the
Release Process to Implement the changes.
