Mount Bromo
Mount Bromo is one of the famous natural tourist destinations in East Java, Indonesia. This active
volcano is located in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park and is a major attraction for domestic
and foreign tourists.
Mount Bromo has a height of around 2,329 meters above sea level. The natural beauty around Mount
Bromo is so stunning, especially at sunrise. Many tourists are willing to wake up early in the morning to
climb to the top of Penanjakan, the highest point in the Bromo area, to witness the stunning sunrise.
When the sun begins to appear on the eastern horizon, the sky will turn reddish, creating a spectacular
view.
In addition to the sunrise, the vast sea of sand and expanse of savanna around Mount Bromo are also a
special attraction. This sea of sand or caldera was formed from the eruption of Mount Bromo and
creates a view similar to a desert. Visitors can explore this sea of sand by horseback or using a jeep.
Not far from Mount Bromo, there is a crater that is still active. Visitors can climb the stairs to the crater
and see the volcanic activity up close. The distinctive aroma of sulfur and smoke coming out of the
crater provide a unique experience for visitors.
In the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area, there are also various adequate facilities such as
lodging, food stalls, and vehicle rentals. Tourists can enjoy various typical East Javanese dishes at food
stalls around the tourist area.
