Introduction
 Plan of Investigation

My group theme is “LGBTQ”, my topic is “Bisexual”. I chose the topic “Bisexual” because they
thought it was interesting. They personally never heard of the term “bisexual” until they watched
videos and articles on this topic. I will benefit by improving my descriptive writing skills. I will
use a article, YouTube video and magazine and do research on the internet and in magazines.
Descriptive writing skills will be used in the Reflections and Oral Presentation respectively.

An Online Article

Biphobia is an aversion toward bisexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being
bisexual. Similarly to homophobia, it refers to hatred and prejudice specifically against those
identified or perceived as being in the bisexual community. It can take the form of denial that
bisexuality is a genuine sexual orientation, or of negative stereotypes about people who are
bisexual (such as the beliefs that they are promiscuous or dishonest). Other forms of biphobia
include bisexual erasure. Biphobia may also avert towards other sexualities attracted to multiple
genders such as pansexuality or polysexuality, as the idea of being attracted to multiple genders
is generally the cause of stigma towards bisexuality.

The hatred of bisexual women and femmes, being a form of prejudice at the intersection of
biphobia and misogyny, is referred to as bi misogyny or less commonly bi sexism. This is a
gendered form of biphobia that accounts for intersectionally in discussions on bigotry.

Biphobia can lead people to deny that bisexuality is real, asserting that people who identify as
bisexual are not genuinely bisexual, or that the phenomenon is far less common than they claim.
One form of this denial is based on the heterosexist view that heterosexuality is the only true or
natural sexual orientation. Thus anything that deviates from that is instead either a psychological
pathology or an example of anti-social behavior.

Another form of denial stems from binary views of sexuality: that people are assumed
monosexual, i.e. homosexual (gay/lesbian) or heterosexual (straight). Throughout the 1980s,
modern research on sexuality was dominated by the idea that heterosexuality and homosexuality
were the only legitimate orientations, dismissing bisexuality as "secondary homosexuality”. In
that model, bisexuals are presumed to be either closeted lesbian/gay people wishing to appear
heterosexual, or individuals (of "either" orientation) experimenting with sexuality outside of their
"normal" interest. Maxims such as "people are either gay, straight, or lying" embody this
dichotomous view of sexual orientation

In a society where sexuality has become wildly accepted, it is inevitable that people are feeling
more confident about coming out. Celebrities around the world, such as Olympic diver Tom
Daley, have been able to express their sexuality as bisexual, with an array of support from the
public. Fifty years ago, this wouldn’t be the case. Despite living in a city and an era where
people can be who they are, that does not mean it is not hard for individuals to express
themselves freely. According to the Evening Standard, 2.6 per cent of London’s population
identify themselves as either gay, bisexual or lesbian. Many people feel comfortable about the
idea of someone being gay, or a woman being bisexual, however there is still a taboo on bisexual
men. The idea that a man can find both a woman and a man attractive confuses people, which is
why it is still quite rare to find an openly bisexual man. In today’s society it is very common that
people view bisexual men and bisexual women differently. Women are able to talk freely about
their sexual encounters with the same sex and they openly admit to being attracted to both men
and women; but if a man were to admit to being attracted to men and women, it would be
unusual – for some, it is simply not the norm.

While many women are told that being bisexual is seen as sexy and different, men will receive a
stunned silence. Recently, especially with the legalization of gay marriages, it is easy to see that
we have become more relaxed about men being gay, however, why is it that if a guy admitted he
likes men and women, people will stare, be confused, and ask questions. Women tend to be more
flexible in their sexuality. Young women are often bombarded with messages from social media
that being a bisexual woman is something that men like; that they should explore this. With Katy
Perry releasing the song I Kissed a Girl and many famous celebrities such as Megan Fox,
Azealia Banks, and Amber Heard all coming out as bisexual, it is not a surprise that women are
praised about ‘being bisexual’. Obviously, men and women differ in their sexual attractions and
desires but if Justin Bieber had released a song singing, he kissed a boy and he liked it, we can
all agree his career might go downhill from there. It could be argued that males coming out as
being bisexual is hard, and straight people cannot tolerate it as they believe they can either be
gay or straight, no in-between. The strain society puts on bisexual men often forces them to be in
relationships with women without expressing their true sexual preferences.

Before researching my Sub-topic "bisexual" I knew that it says that Society is wildly accepting
bisexual individuals and nowadays Society doesn't Care about sexuality. The article "what is
biphobia" is by Veronica Zambon" and can be found on "Medical News Today" The article
"What is biphobia" is addressing what is biphobia and how this belief impacts of individuals
mental, physical and sexual health towards individuals that are bisexual-Biphobia refers to the
belief that monosexuality is Superior. People Con experience monosexism from both Straight
and LGBTQ Communities Overall I learn that monosexism refers to discrimination from others
due to a person's attraction to two or more genders.

The magazine" The secrets life of bisexual guys" is by Rachel Fineman and can be found on
"artifact magazine". The magazine is addressing the challenges faced by bisexual men in
expressing their sexuality, despite Society becoming move accepting of diverse sexual identities.
While bisexual women, influenced by Cultural messages and celebrity role models, often find
Support or even praise for their sexual openness, bisexual men. Still face Stigma and confusion.
Overall I learn that men often Struggle to openly express their sexuality due to the fear of
judgment or his understanding.

My Third artifact is YouTube video. The title of YouTube "Why we hate bisexual men". The
YouTube video is about women who wouldn't date bisexual men and also the reasons why. Hiv
was first reported in 1981 and it took years to figure out what this disease was and how to treat
it .Apparently it was bothering the gay community so much that it was considered a gay disease.
They called it "GRID “which means Gay, Related Immune Deficiency. It was mostly
transmitted into the gay population Mostly the Straight people saw this as a gay disease god
called it that. Overall I learn that the reason why women wouldn't date bisexual men because
they are scared of being transmitted to this diseases and they also don’t trust them.

 Reflection 2

The first artifact, a article on bisexual individuals, is informative and explains how Society is
wildly accepting bisexual individuals and how Society doesn't care about Sexuality. It uses a
calm but argumentative tone, making the information a bit Sarcastic but understanding It also
encourages individuals to reflect on their own actions.

The second artifact, an magazine on The secrets life of bisexual guys" is to very understanding It
addresses the life of bisexual men in expressing their Sexuality. These facts make the magazine
understanding and also may happen to certain people expressing their feelings too.

The third artifact, a video on "why we hate bisexual men". It's very straight forward and
understanding. It tells and shows the reasons they disguise bisexual men and it also states the
diseases that might help readers to understand what they should be careful of and the impact they
cause to others.
 Reflection 3

My SBA group worked helped me with social communication also discipline productively at
school and at home. Hence I had to be productive because of the other SBA’s that should be
completed at a certain time.
 Group Written Report

The Topic chosen by each individuals in our group are; Nadia Pradhuman: Bisexual, Feyaz
Razack: Furries and Qwanell Samuels: transgender. It was relatively easy. We came to an
agreement and choose the artifacts because it related very well with our main topics, therefore
the artifacts gave us informative information and factual evidence that supports our sub topic.
The name of the three artifacts are : how the rise of the anti- LGBTQ+ hate and violence is
impacting the community , the unnatural reason to why 20% of children are suddenly apart of the
LGBTQ+ community, HOMOPHOBIC gay rights group attacks gender criticism and kids don’t
deserve to be told lies. In all, our group members inspected from seven (7) artifacts but selected
three (3) artifacts that goes with the main topic.

First Artifact contains a article, titled “how the rise of the anti-LGBTQ+ hate and violence is
impacting the community. The main issue in this article is that LGBTQ or homosexuals are
getting killed for having LGBTQ or pride flags outside there stores and they are promoting
homosexuality which can affect children or passbyers.

Second Artifact that contains a video, titled "It's not natural" why are 20% of kids suddenly
LGBTQ? One of the main issue that occur in this artifact is that LGBTQ community are
exposing books to children that contains information that shouldn't be revealed to a child at a
early age. Therefore, this causes children to be confused of what gender they are or may want to
become the opposite gender. Parents are allowing their child to change hormones to the opposite
gender which is outrageous for a parent to let a child make life threatening choices for
themselves because children are not fully developed and have no idea of what they are getting
into.

Third Artifact contains a video as well, 'HOMOPHOBIC' gay rights group attacks gender
criticism | 'kids deserve better than to be told lies! Problem that was displayed in this artifact is
that a transgender activists released thousands of crickets at LGBTQ right conference. LGBTQ
children feel uncomfortable/ unsafe expressing themselves because of the hate that they are
receiving and being attacked by random activist for being gay.
 CONTINUING WRITTTEN REPORT….

Our group members did a review and a discussion based on the three artifacts on the topic
‘LGBTQ”. From the first artifact we learnt from this article that multiple murders have occur
among LGBTQ homosexuals in recent weeks. A homosexual by the name of O’Shae Sibley was
brutally stabbed to death in Brooklyn after some police officers confronted a group who made
homophobic slurs. A next incident occurred in the state of California for refusing to remove a
pride flag from her store.

The second artifact enlightened us about the Anti-LGBTQ movement by individuals who
disliked the LGBTQ community.

I learnt from this article that multiple murders have occurred among LGBTQ+ homosexuals in
