Refitting the rear brake control

Make sure that bushing (A) is positioned in the relevant seat (B) on rear brake lever (14).

Important
Bushing (A) must be at the same distance from the external edges of seat (B), as shown.

Make sure that position (X) = 118.2 0­0.2mm is respected on control rod.
If that is not so, loosen nut (15) and do or undo rod (C) as required. When (X) position has been set, tighten nut (15) to a torque of 7.5 Nm ±
10%.

Apply the specified product to screw (17).


Fit control rod (8) to the rear brake control lever (14).
Start and tighten screw (17) to a torque of 10 Nm ± 10%.
Fit spring (16).

Tighten nut (18) on adjuster (19).


Tighten adjuster (19) on brake lever, until obtaining the value (Y) = 6.6 mm.
Hold adjuster (19) and tighten nut (18) to 8 Nm ± 10% onto the surface of brake lever.

Apply indicated grease on the two O­rings (20) and on the collar of special screw (13), fit the first O­ring (20) on special screw (13).
Insert screw (13) in the hole on brake lever assembly.
Fit the second O­ring (20) on screw (13).
Fit the washer (21) on screw (13).
Fit the brake lever assembly, positioning it as shown, on the front right­hand footpeg holder plate and start screw (13).
Tighten the screw (13) to a torque of 25 Nm ± 10%.

While positioning the brake lever (14), make sure to fit the control rod in its seat as shown in the figure.

Apply the specified product to screws (10) and (11).


Set footpeg holder plate (12) on the right­hand swinging arm shaft support.
Start screws (10) and (11) and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm ± 5%.

Apply the specified product to screws (6).


Fit the brake master cylinder (7) to control rod.
Start screws (6) and tighten them to a torque of 8 Nm ± 10%.

Lay the hose (22), complying with the indicated values:


A) = 90° ± 45°;
B) = 21° ± 2°;
C) = 75°.

Tighten the screw (7) to a torque of 23 Nm ± 10%.


Position hose (5), and fasten it with clamp (4).

Apply the specified product to screws (1).
Position heel guard (2) and start the screws (1).
Tighten the screws (1) to a torque of 6 Nm ± 10%.

Fill the braking system (Changing the rear brake system fluid).
