FREESTYLE AND DANCE BATTLE
In order to ensure equal representation and participation from all
departments, the following mechanics have been established for selecting
representatives for the Freestyle and Dance Battle:
General:
a) The competition is open to all bonafide students of SIBTECH.
b) Each group will have a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 20
members per department.
c) The members of the group may be composed of all males or
females, or any combination thereof.
d) The use of pyrotechnic gadgets, smoke or combustible materials
as props will be allowed as long as it will be safe to all performers
and audiences.
e) Paid choreographer is allowed.
f) Any team proven in violation of the rules & regulations will be
automatically disqualified from the event.
g) Decision of judges is final and non-appealable.
FREESTYLE (DAY 1) (February 21, 2024- 8:00 AM)
ROUND 1
Mechanics:
1. Each team will be represented by one member who will showcase
their freestyle skills.
2. Music that they will use for their performance will be a surprise (it will
be given on the day of the said competition).
3. Each representative will have a total of 1 minute to showcase their
freestyle moves. They must make the most out of this time to
impress the judges and the audience.
4. The department representatives will randomly select their opponents
for this round.
ROUND 2
1. Each Department will showcase their freestyle moves to the beat of
music.
2. Each representative will have one minute to demonstrate their winning
freestyle moves, the judges will determine the winning department
based on their performance.
3. There are three music genres to choose from for this round. Each
representative will select one genre to perform their freestyle moves
to. The three genre options are:
a) Funk Music
b) R&B
c) OPM

DANCE BATTLE COMPETITION (DAY 2) (February 22, 2024- 5:00 PM)
Mechanics:
1. Each Department will perform to any POP/HIP-HOP Music with a
maximum time limit of 5 minutes. Beyond this limit, a total of
three (3) points will be deducted from the group’s total score.
2. Costumes should be modest and should not contain any
offensive or inappropriate elements. Participants must inform the
Committee about their props and stage setup requirements
before the competition.
3. Participants must ensure the safety of themselves and others
during their performance.
4. Dangerous or risky moves that may cause harm to participants
or the audience are strictly prohibited.
5. Participants must submit their music tracks in MP3 format to the
assigned Committee by February 16, 2024 (Friday).
6. Any explicit or offensive content in the music tracks is strictly
prohibited.
