Second Conditional
Conditional sentences are used to express actions or events that depend on a specific
condition. In 8th grade, we focus on two types: the First Conditional and the Second
Conditional.
● First Conditional: Used for real or possible situations in the future. It is formed
using:
If + present simple, will + base verb
Example: If it rains, we will stay indoors.
● Second Conditional: Used for hypothetical or unlikely situations. It is formed using:
If + past simple, would + base verb
Example: If I had a million dollars, I would travel the world.
