Introduction

this was built in the decade of 1920, under the initiative of Doña Consuelo Amat y
León Rolando, who was a poet, architect and writer from Lima, who married Rómulo
Boggio Klauer, mayor of Chancay.

Location

Chancay Castle, located in the province of Huaral, was a short distance from where
the Chilean ship Covadonga had sunk.

The Chancay Castle has three levels and ten thematic halls. Here are its
main attractions:

1. Replica of the Independencia bow: This was a Peruvian frigate that participated
in the War of the Pacific and is pointing towards the place where the Chilean
ship La Covadonga sank in 1880.
2. Museums: Here are exposed huacos and mummies of the Chancay culture and
different civilizations of ancient Peru, especially in the northern region of Lima.
3. Hall of Memories: Objects from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th
century are displayed, such as furniture, paintings and personal items,
especially those belonging to the founders of Castillo de Chancay, the family of
Doña Consuelo Amat y León.

To finish with my exposition

The Chancay Castle stands as the first multicultural theme park in Peru, keeping alive
its essence and legacy as a symbol of Huaral and a great gateway to the Norte Chico.
It not only preserves its architectural heritage, but also offers a unique experience to
its visitors, immersing them in the history, culture and art of the region.
