If a candidate submits multiple applications, only the latest valid (completed) application will be retained. Any previous applications are considered invalid, and the application fee or intimation charges for these will be forfeited. This rule ensures that only one application is processed per candidate, avoiding confusion and duplication .

Referencing the detailed advertisement on NIC's website is important because it contains comprehensive details about the application process, including rules and regulations not fully covered in the brief summary or notice. This ensures candidates are fully aware of all stipulations and can avoid making application errors .

Candidates must print the application form containing fee payment details and the e-receipt after submission. This printed document should be kept for reference. It acts as a proof of fee payment and submission, which may be required at various stages of the examination process .

Candidates must fulfill the age eligibility criteria as of March 1, 2017, and the qualification criteria as of April 20, 2017. These specific dates are set to ensure that all candidates have their qualifications and are within the appropriate age bracket at the time of their application .

Candidates from the OBC category who fall into the 'CREAMY LAYER' are not entitled to reservation benefits or age relaxation. They are required to indicate their category as GENERAL instead of OBC when applying, as they do not qualify for these special provisions intended for the non-creamy layer as per the guidelines provided by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT).

The NIC advises candidates to regularly check its website for updates regarding the date of the online examination. Additionally, candidates should ensure to check their junk email folders for any registration-related emails to avoid missing important notifications .

NIC reserves the right to change the examination center allocated to a candidate if necessary due to factors such as response rates, administrative feasibility, or other logistical concerns. This flexibility is essential to accommodate the practicalities of organizing and conducting the examination efficiently .

The NIC allocates examination centers based on various factors such as candidate density and administrative feasibility and reserves the right to change or cancel any centers as needed. This can impact candidates by potentially changing the location they had initially selected, requiring flexibility from candidates regarding their examination logistics .

Candidates who require a scribe for the examination must ensure that their scribe is not also a candidate for the examination. This requirement is to maintain the integrity and fairness of the examination process, preventing conflict of interest and ensuring a level playing field .
