RelativityOne Certified Pro exam.

Exam description
The RelativityOne Certified Pro certification helps Relativity Server and RelativityOne users, and others who advocate
for RelativityOne inside and outside their organization, verify their proficiency using the product and communicating its
advantages. This exam is designed for anyone interested in learning more about RelativityOne, RelativityOne and Relativity
Server users, and Sales professionals.

Study guide format

This study guide is divided into three parts:

• RelativityOne Certified Pro Exam Details: This section contains information about the exam structure, format, and
instructions on how to prepare for the exam.
• Study Resources: This section is divided based on exam topics, with one section for each exam topic. Each section
contains key points and references to help further your Relativity knowledge specific to the RelativityOne Certified Pro
exam.
• Exam Items: This section includes exam items and their corresponding study source. Use the study sources and the

Exam Details
 Exam Structure

The RelativityOne Certified Pro certification helps Relativity Server and RelativityOne users, and others who advocate
for RelativityOne inside and outside their organization, verify their proficiency using the product and communicating its
advantages. The exam tests on the RelativityOne Prairie Smoke release and is updated based on quarterly releases.
The following table outlines the various topics tested on the exam, along with their importance. Topic importance
determines the number of questions you will receive in each topic. High importance topics include more questions, and low
importance topics include fewer questions.

• High importance topics = 18-20% of the quiz

• Medium importance topics = 12-16% of the quiz
• Low importance topics = 6-8% of the quiz

Exam format
The exam contains a 50-question quiz covering the topics listed above. Question types include multiple choice, multiple
response, and true/false. You will have 35 minutes to complete the quiz. You must achieve a score of 80% or higher to pass.

Exam Preparation
There are no prerequisites for this certification; however, in order to prepare, we recommend following:

• Read and understand this Study Guide. This guide is designed to provide you with the necessary materials to prepare
for the exam, including topics, key points, resources, and exam items.
• Review the RelativityOne documentation. This is a free and useful resource for the exam.
• Take the RelativityOne Overview Training. During this two-and-a-half hour online class, you’ll learn how to use and
administer features and workflows specific to the RelativityOne cloud solution.
• Familiarize yourself with the on-demand and live training content. We offer a variety of training resources to enhance

• RelativityOne does not require any back-end management. Relativity manages, tunes, and supports RelativityOne so you
don’t have to.

RelativityOne billing

• With early access to new features, you can extend and differentiate your offering and test your innovations prior to
upgrade without interrupting your production environments.

Data encryption
• RelativityOne data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

RelativityOne mobile app

• With the RelativityOne mobile app, you can view and code documents on-the-go from your iPad or iPhone. Your
documents never leave the RelativityOne platform.
− The application is built with security top-of-mind. It requires both a 6-digit passcode, Touch ID or Face ID, as well as
Relativity login credentials. Two-factor authentication is also supported. Additionally, you cannot copy and paste text.
− Documents can be shared to the mobile app by other Relativity users using the app or through the Viewer. When a
document is shared with you, notifications appear on your mobile device as push notifications and on the notification
tab.

Preview environment
• Preview is a free RelativityOne instance that gives you early access one month ahead of your RelativityOne upgrade.
This enables you to identify feature changes that impact your workflows and adjust accordingly.
− You can access Preview through the User drop-down menu in Relativity. To grant a user access to the preview
environment, you must add the Preview login method to their user account and add them to the Preview Group in
your production environment.

Sandbox
• Sandbox is a reusable RelativityOne environment that allows you to test SQL scripts, event handlers, API based
applications, custom pages, and custom agents for both the current and Early Access (EA) release of Relativity.
− More specifically, you can do functional testing of custom agents, use Relativity’s back-end APIs, and write and edit
SQL scripts.

 Data migration

Key points
ARM
• ARM (Archive, Restore and Migrate) assists with migrating a workspace between Relativity installations or SQL servers.
− You can restore a workspace to the same version or newer version of Relativity, but not to a previous version of
Relativity.
− You can only restore a workspace to the same version of SQL or a higher version.
− You should not ZIP an ARM archive for faster transfer speeds. Any time gained during the Staging Explorer transfer
will be lost extracting the archive on the cloud share.

Workspace portal
• Using the Workspace portal application, you can view all your workspaces from a single tab that exists in both your
master Relativity Server instance and a satellite RelativityOne instance in the cloud. You can navigate between the
instances seamlessly using single sign-on, and easily create and edit new workspaces in either environment.
− The Workspace portal application must be installed in both the master and duplicate instances.
− We recommend that you have an authentication provider set up in both the master and duplicate instances to have
the most seamless experience from workspace portal using single sign-on (SSO) capability. Relativity supports two
authentication protocols for single sign-on:
- OpenID Connect: Use this protocol if you plan to use Workspace portal.
- SAML 2.0: This protocol is not compatible with Workspace portal.

User and Group synchronization

• You can use the Relativity User and Group synchronization application to synchronize groups, users, OpenID login
methods, and clients from a designated master instance to a connected duplicate instance.

 Data transfer

Key points

• There are three data transfer tools in RelativityOne:

1. Staging Explorer
− With the Staging Explorer, you can rapidly transfer large amounts of data. You can use the Staging Explorer to
upload files to a staging area for RelativityOne or to download files from your RelativityOne storage location to a
local computer.
− You can provide users access to send email notifications when a transfer finishes or fails with the Send Email
Notification admin operation permission.
- Notifications are sent for each transfer job and are set on the instance level.
− You can use the Staging Explorer when you have raw data to be processed with Relativity Processing:

− The Staging Explorer uses Aspera to facilitate transfer speeds that can be 10 times faster than a traditional FTP.
- To reach the Aspera server, your firewall must allow a range of UDP ports. Incoming client connections
automatically increment to use the next available port in the range. Open these ports on any user machine
that stages any data to RelativityOne. This includes ports on your network, as well as local machine firewalls.
2. Relativity Desktop Client (local)
− Use the local Relativity Desktop Client (RDC) when you are importing pre-processed data, or exporting
productions, saved searches, or folders.
− Aspera is the recommended transfer mode in the Relativity Desktop Client (RDC) from your local computer.
3. Relativity Integration Points (web)
− Use Relativity Integration Points (RIP) after you upload to the file share to import pre-processed data, to export
productions, saved searches, or folders, or to push data from one workspace to another.

Collect
• Collect is an easy-to-use application for collecting your custodian’s Microsoft Office 365 email and documents.
− You can easily install Collect in a workspace by using the functionality available through the Application Deployment
System (ADS).
− Collect automatically collects preserved files from Microsoft data sources.
− Collect offers comprehensive reporting capabilities that you can use to view information about collections. You can
set options to generate these reports based on matter and collection as well as other combinations.
− Monitor pending, running, and completed collect jobs in the Monitor tab. The Monitor page only tracks collect jobs
from the last 24 hours.

Activity dashboard
• You can use the activity dashboard for a high-level view of your instance and user health. You can also connect other
federated instances of RelativityOne to your dashboard, but you cannot connect other Relativity Server instances to your
dashboard. The activity dashboard is comprised of these tabs:
− User Performance: Contains widgets that provide a snapshot of user performance data from the last 60 minutes,
including document load times in the viewer and doc-to-doc load times.
− Batch Operation Performance: Contains an overview of recent batch operations for both your instance and
workspaces.
− Data Utilization: Contains widgets that provide a quick snapshot of your RelativityOne subscription utilization, as well
as reports that provide a greater level of detail.

Key points
RelativityOne security and compliance features
• RelativityOne offers a variety of security and compliance features to RelativityOne customers, including, but not limited
to:
− Single and Multi-Factor authentication: RelativityOne supports OpenID Connect and SAML2 protocols, two-factor
authentication, and single sign-on.
− 24/7 monitoring: Our threat intel platform continually monitors each RelativityOne instance for suspicious events.
More than 200 intel feeds search for specialized indicators—logon events, new users, alerts from Azure, etc.—to
distribute to endpoint protection, including next-generation firewalls, anti-malware, anti-spam, and EDR solutions.
− Customer-Managed Keys: We can provide you with the ability to manage your RelativityOne environment’s encryption
key for increased control of your data.
− Advanced web application firewall: Signal Sciences provides RelativityOne with intelligence and visibility into
potential attacks from around the wall.
− Shared Security Logs: If requested, we can provide the relevant security logs from your RelativityOne instance, so you
can perform an independent security analysis and monitor your own environment.

RelativityOne employee security protocol

• RelativityOne operations employees follow a robust security protocol, including a regular rotation of certificates, keys,
and strong passwords, multi-factor authentication across all company systems, privileged access assigned on a need-
to know basis, segregated environments for design, implementation, testing, and hosting, and additional operations-
specific security training.

Security certifications
• RelativityOne is ISO 27001 compliant, SOC-2 Type II certified, and HIPAA compliant.

Customer lockbox
• Customer lockbox is a security feature that restricts access of system admins to customer workspaces so that Relativity
employees do not have access to customer workspaces unless explicitly granted by the customer.
− This feature is enabled by default. When enabled, system admins must belong to a group within a workspace, in
addition to the System Administrator group, to access that workspace.

Client domains
• Client domains provide a secure way to isolate users, workspaces, groups, and matters by client and provide data
separation so that only RelativityOne Certified Partners have access to data across all their clients.
− Client domain admins can perform workspace administration tasks by default. They are essentially workspace admins
for workspaces within the client domain.

Security Center
• Security Center provides a single-threaded view into the most pressing areas of concern for securing your data:
− User multi-factor authentication: Admins have the ability to track two-factor authentication usage and send users
notifications to enable multi-factor authentication to make sure user endpoints are secure.
− User activity: Provides insight into the status of inactive users and enables you to disable or delete them to ensure
your data is secure.
− Workspace access: Real-time access audits of Lockbox/Relativity support and revoke access.
- You can also disable inactive users from the User tab or by using the Disable inactive users script.

Key points
RelativityOne outage windows and upgrade cadence
• RelativityOne instances are upgraded once a month. The US monthly upgrade window is on Saturday from 10 PM CT to
Sunday 10 AM CT. RelativityOne geographies are not upgraded simultaneously.
• Customers cannot access their RelativityOne instance during an upgrade.

RelativityOne permissions
• Admins and developers can directly query the SQL database. You can run Relativity scripts in your RelativityOne
instance, and you can also run SQL scripts in SQL Server Management Studio directly against your Relativity databases.
You are provided two accounts with two sets of permissions that you can use to build and run your queries:
− Tenant Reporting account: Meant for simple querying and reporting against workspaces and EDDS.
− Tenant Admin account: More powerful; you can write, update, and delete data in workspaces, and query EDDS.

Auto scaling

• You can use the Audit application to report, monitor, and search through Relativity’s audit records. Some potential use
cases and benefits of the Audit application are:
