PRINT WITH TOOTH SIZE AND SHAPE AMONG 350 SUBJECTS AS A FORENSIC TOOL
1. Percentage Distribution Analysis
1.1. LIP PRINT Distribution
The distribution of lip prints across subjects is categorized by type and gender. The types of lip prints
include I, I', II, III, IV, V, and VI.

Observation: Female subjects (F) show higher percentages for types II and IV, while male
subjects (M) exhibit a more evenly distributed lip print type across the categories. Type VI
was only observed in females.
1.2. THUMB PRINT Distribution
The thumb print distribution is categorized by thumb print type, which includes 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0,
6.0, and 7.0.

Observation: 3.0 is the most common thumb print type among both genders, but males
have a slightly higher occurrence of this type. Female subjects have a more even distribution
among types.
1.3. TOOTH SHAPE Distribution
Tooth shape is classified into four types: A, B, C, and D.

Observation: Female subjects have a higher percentage of C tooth shape, while male
subjects show a higher preference for D tooth shape. A is more common among males
compared to females.
1.4. TOOTH SIZE Distribution
Tooth size is categorized as A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.

2. Chi-Square Test Results
The Chi-Square tests were performed to analyze the relationship between lip prints, thumb prints,
and tooth characteristics (shape and size).
2.1. Chi-Square Test for LIP PRINT and THUMB PRINT
Chi2 = 28.08
p-value = 0.824
Interpretation: The p-value is greater than 0.05, which indicates no significant association
between LIP PRINT and THUMB PRINT.
2.2. Chi-Square Test for LIP PRINT and TOOTH SHAPE
Chi2 = 16.41
p-value = 0.564
Interpretation: The p-value is greater than 0.05, which suggests no significant association
between LIP PRINT and TOOTH SHAPE.
2.3. Chi-Square Test for LIP PRINT and TOOTH SIZE
Chi2 = 31.47
p-value = 0.684
Interpretation: The p-value is greater than 0.05, indicating no significant association
between LIP PRINT and TOOTH SIZE.
3. Conclusion
Based on the analysis, we can conclude that while there are distinct percentage distributions for LIP
PRINT, THUMB PRINT, TOOTH SHAPE, and TOOTH SIZE between the two genders, there is no
significant statistical association between these characteristics as per the Chi-Square tests. This study
provides a comprehensive comparison of these traits, showcasing their potential for use in forensic
science, though further investigation with larger datasets may be required for more definitive
conclusions.
