Subject: Concerns Regarding Abdullahi Binte Suleman Mam's Conduct

Dear Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam,

We, the students of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department, Batch 23 of the Islamic
University of Technology (IUT), are writing to formally bring to your attention a series of serious concerns
regarding the conduct of our course instructor, Abdullahi Binte Suleman Mam, who is responsible for the
course HUM 4147 (Technology, Environment, and Society).

We believe that her actions have had a detrimental impact on our academic progress and have created a
learning environment that is far from conducive to our development. We wish to highlight the following
issues:

1. Vindictive and Unprofessional Behavior:

- On multiple occasions, she has made statements such as "You will regret it" and "You can complain to
whoever you want, nothing will happen to me," which we find to be threatening and unprofessional in
nature.

2. Irresponsible Conduct During Classes:

- She has frequently left classes abruptly without offering any explanation or justification.

- Attendance has not been properly maintained, which has led to potential discrepancies regarding class
participation.

- It has come to our attention that she purposefully removed more than two students from her Google
Classroom, effectively barring them from accessing class materials and updates. We suspect that some of
these students were removed because they had informed the authorities about her previous misconducts.

- Additionally, all study materials were removed from the Google Classroom without any prior notice or
explanation, significantly hindering our ability to prepare for the course.

3. Disregard for Professionalism During Investigation:

- During a meeting with the investigation team, she left the session angrily, claiming that she had the right
to act as she pleased within her classroom, showing a blatant disregard for accountability and
professionalism.

4. Unreasonable Pressure Regarding Assignments:

- She has deliberately imposed excessive pressure on students by assigning a large and complex assignment
with an extremely short deadline. This seems to have been done with the intent of causing unnecessary
stress among students.

5. Concerns Regarding Mid-Examination Scripts and Assignments:

- Given the conduct mentioned above, we are deeply concerned about the impartiality and fairness in the
evaluation of our mid-examination scripts and assignments, which she currently holds.

We believe that such behavior not only undermines the integrity of the academic process but also creates a
hostile and unproductive environment for the students.

Request for Immediate Action:

In light of the above-mentioned issues, we respectfully urge you to take the following actions:

1. Assign a replacement instructor to take over the course at the earliest.

2. Ensure that our mid-examination scripts and assignments are evaluated impartially.

3. Implement appropriate measures to prevent such misconduct from recurring in the future.

Enclosed with this letter is a list of all the students from CSE Batch 23 who are in agreement with this request,
along with their names and student IDs. We stand united in seeking a resolution to this matter.

We trust in your commitment to maintaining the values and academic standards of IUT, and we look forward
to your prompt and decisive intervention.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Eshad Bin Reza – 23004117

Student feedback can highlight specific issues in educator conduct that may not be visible to administration . It allows students to voice concerns directly related to their learning experience. Systematic collection and analysis of feedback help institutions make informed decisions about necessary interventions, reinforce best practices, and provide targeted professional development for educators .

A faculty member's refusal to acknowledge professional accountability can lead to a breakdown of trust between students and faculty, harm the institution's reputation, and compromise the educational standards . This may result in loss of authority among peers, diminished respect from students, and could even lead to formal complaints or legal action if behavior violates institutional policies or students' rights .

Institutions can develop clear policies outlining acceptable conduct and consequences for misconduct . Implementing regular training workshops, establishing a robust monitoring system for teaching practices, and creating confidential channels for students to report allegations can also prevent future misconduct. Instituting peer reviews or audits of course management can further mitigate risks .

Educators should consider the students' workload and ensure that assignments are reasonable in scope and aligned with taught material. They should provide deadlines that allow students sufficient time to comprehensively tackle assignments, fostering learning rather than stress . Transparency in expectations and flexibility in deadlines can also respect individual student circumstances, promoting fairness and ethical teaching practices .

Arbitrarily removing students from digital classrooms disrupts their access to vital educational resources, impairs their ability to complete course requirements, and creates inequality in learning opportunities . It may result in academic setbacks due to missed information, classes, and potentially influence their overall educational trajectory negatively .

Factors that can undermine a conducive learning environment include unprofessional behavior from instructors, such as making threatening statements, leaving classes without explanation, and not maintaining accurate attendance records . Further disruptions can occur when study materials are removed without prior notice . Additionally, if instructors impose excessive pressure through unrealistic assignment deadlines, it can create undue stress among students .

University administration must thoroughly investigate claims of educator misconduct, ensuring due process and impartiality . They are responsible for maintaining academic integrity, supporting affected students, and reflecting on the institution's values and reputation . Effective communication and transparent procedures are critical in restoring trust and addressing both immediate and systemic issues caused by the misconduct .

Educational institutions can ensure fairness by assigning impartial evaluators, unrelated to the initial teaching of the course, for grading scripts and assignments . They can also establish clear guidelines and oversee adherence to ethical standards in grading practices. Regular audits and student feedback can be used to monitor and maintain fairness and integrity in the evaluation processes .

Access to consistent and dependable course materials is critical because it ensures that all students have the necessary resources to understand and engage with course content . It allows students to prepare adequately for assessments and maintain continuity in their studies, particularly in a digital environment where in-person clarification is limited . Without such access, students may face significant disadvantages in their educational progress .

Unprofessional conduct, such as making threats or leaving classes without cause, creates a hostile learning environment, reducing student motivation and engagement . This behavior can lead to anxiety and stress among students, undermining their academic performance. Removing students from a class platform without justification restricts their access to essential course materials, further impeding their ability to succeed academically .
