General Hospital Ebute-Ikorodu,Local Government Area of Lgso State.

3.11 METHOD OF DATA ANALYSIS
The data collected served as a means to an end. The end being the use of the required data to
understand the various situation, it is with a view of making valuable recommendation and contributions
to this end, the data collected has analyzed for any meaningful interpretation to come out with some
results. It is for this reason that the following methods were in the research project for the analysis of
data collected for a comprehensive analysis of data collected for a comprehensive analysis of data
collected. Emphasis was laid on the use of absolute number frequencies of responses and percentages,
answers to the research question were provided through the comparison of the percentage of pregnant
women response to each statement with questionnaire related to any specified question being
considered.
Frequency in the study refers to the arrangement or response in order of magnitude or occurrence,
while percentage refers to the management of the response in order of that proportion. The sample
percentage mentioned is believed to be straight forward easy to interpret and understand method. The
researcher thereafter chose the simple percentage method to use. The formula for percentage is shown
as:
R = F/N X 100
Where
R = Percentage of the total respondents
F = Frequency of the option picked by the respondents
N = Total number of the respondent
100 = The percentage of respondents for each item contained in the question.
3.12 VALIDATION OF THE RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
The questionnaire used as the research instrument was subjected to face its validation. This research
instrument (questionnaires) adopted was adequately checked and validated by the supervisor, his
contributions and correction were included into the final draft of the research instrument used.
