Children's Day Assembly Script
[Setting: Mary, Sebastien, and Neuan are standing at the front of the stage, smiling and waving at
the audience.]
Mary: (excited) Good morning, everyone!
Sebastien & Neuan: (in sync) Good morning!
Audience: (responds) Good morning!
Neuan: (leans in, smiling at the audience) Today is a special day! Does anyone know what day it is?
Audience: (some shout "Children's Day!")
Mary: (claps) Yes! It's Children's Day - a day dedicated to each one of you! And do you know why
we celebrate it?
Sebastien: (smiling) It's because kids - all of you - are amazing. You have energy, ideas, and a way
of seeing the world that's like magic. Right, Neuan?
Neuan: (nodding) Absolutely! You remind us that life should be fun and full of imagination. (pauses,
pretending to think) In fact, that reminds me of a story!
Audience: (leans forward in interest)
[PART 1: STORY - THE INVENTIVE KID]
Neuan: (dramatically) This story is about a boy named Leo. Leo was about your age - maybe 10 or
11 - and he loved to invent things. One day, he had a big idea: he wanted to create a robot that
would do his homework!
Sebastien: (laughs) Now, I know some of you probably wish you had that robot, right?
Audience: (laughs and cheers)
Mary: So, Leo got to work. He used bits of old toys, wires from a broken radio, and he even
borrowed his mum's alarm clock. After days of building, he finally finished his homework robot. It
had eyes that lit up and arms that could move a pencil!
Neuan: (leans in) But here's the funny part: when Leo tried to turn it on, instead of doing his maths
homework, it started doing... (pauses) *dance moves*!
Sebastien: (laughing) Imagine a robot doing the moonwalk instead of solving equations!
Audience: (laughs)
Mary: Leo was disappointed at first, but then he realised something: it was *still* his invention, and it
was still amazing. He'd made something from scratch! And guess what? That dancing robot actually
became pretty famous. Kids from all over the neighbourhood came to see it dance!
Neuan: (smiling) Leo learned that even if things don't go exactly as planned, we can still celebrate
what we create - and who knows what might happen next?
Sebastien: So, the lesson? Keep trying new things, and don't be afraid to make mistakes.
Sometimes, mistakes lead to the best surprises!
[PART 2: AROUND THE WORLD - CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATIONS]
Mary: Speaking of surprises, do you know that children all over the world celebrate Children's Day?
And they do it in lots of cool ways!
Sebastien: (to audience) For example, in Brazil, they celebrate *Dia das Crianças* with lots of
parades and festivals. Schools close for the day, and it's like one big party just for kids!
Neuan: (to audience) In Mexico, kids get to dress up in colourful costumes. They have carnivals,
and even their favourite cartoon characters show up to celebrate with them!
Mary: And in Japan, they have *Kodomo no Hi*, which means "Children's Day." They fly beautiful
fish-shaped flags called *koinobori*. Each flag represents a member of the family, and they wish for
strength and success for all the kids.
Sebastien: (to audience) Imagine having a special flag just for you, flying high in the sky!
Audience: (some kids say "wow")
Neuan: Here's an idea - if you had a flag that represented you, what would it look like?
[Kids in the audience start sharing ideas, like "a flag with rainbows" or "one with footballs."]
Mary: (smiling) Those sound amazing! You see, around the world, everyone recognises how special
children are - and today, we're here to celebrate all of you!
[PART 3: STORY - THE KINDNESS TREE]
Sebastien: (softly, more seriously) You know, Children's Day isn't just about having fun. It's also a
reminder of how much kindness and love you bring into the world.
Neuan: (nods) That's right. Let me tell you another story, about a girl named Amara who created
something very special.
Mary: Amara noticed that sometimes, people could be unkind. She wanted to make her school a
happier place, so she came up with an idea - she planted a tree right in the schoolyard.
Sebastien: (to the audience) But this wasn't an ordinary tree. Amara called it the "Kindness Tree."
She put up a sign that said, "For every act of kindness, add a leaf."
Neuan: (enthusiastic) And soon, kids started adding leaves. They'd write things like, "I helped my
friend with her homework" or "I shared my lunch." In no time, the tree was covered with hundreds of
leaves, all showing how kind kids can be!
Mary: (to audience) What about you? If we had a Kindness Tree here, what would you write on your
leaf?
[Audience members shout ideas like "helping friends" or "playing with someone new."]
Sebastien: (smiling warmly) Exactly. Children are full of kindness, and you can make a difference
just by being yourselves.
[PART 4: AUDIENCE INTERACTION - THREE CHEERS FOR CHILDREN'S DAY]
Mary: (clapping her hands) Alright, let's make some noise to celebrate today! We're going to do
three big cheers!
Sebastien: When we say, "Who's amazing?" you shout, "We are!" Got it?
All speakers together: (in sync) Who's amazing?
Audience: We are!
Neuan: (louder) Who's the future?
Audience: We are!
Mary: (enthusiastically) And who's ready to have an awesome day?
Audience: We are!
[PART 5: CLOSING MESSAGE]
Sebastien: (smiling) So today, remember - each of you is full of creativity, kindness, and the power
to make a difference.
Neuan: You have unique ideas, you're brave, and you make this world a better place just by being
you.
Mary: So, on this Children's Day, we hope you laugh a little louder, play a little longer, and keep
being amazing - because you're the reason we're celebrating today.
All speakers together: (raising their hands) Happy Children's Day, everyone!
