My Favourite Restaurant

Last week, my family and I visited a new restaurant in my city. It

opened just two weeks ago, so we were really excited to try the food
there. We ate very nice food! We tried their spicy dishes and an amazing soup.
The waiters were really kind. They recommended the best dishes for us to try and
they were right. I need to go again. But I don’t know when. I hope we can go and
try more dishes very soon!

Every Saturday night, I go with my friends to the same restaurant.

It’s an activity we’ve done for more than 3 years! We always meet
at the park first and then we go there to have some burgers and fries. I always
share with my friend Tony because we like the same type of burger. It’s been two
weeks since we have been there because now all my friends are on holiday, but
we’re going to meet tomorrow. I can’t wait to hear from them!

If there’s something that I love in this world, it’s sushi! There’s a

sushi restaurant near my house and I always go there when I meet
my friends for lunch or dinner. The first time I went there, I wasn’t sure about
the food. I’ve never tried sushi before, so I didn’t know what to eat. But now, I
can’t live without it! There are so many different types. Every time I go with my
friends, I try new dishes. Maybe we’ll meet this week. I am going to try their
new dish of sweet sushi. It has some fruit in it and sesame seeds. Oh, it also has
some chocolate syrup on top. It must be delicious!

Cooking in the Kitchen

At home, Elisabeth’s dad was always the person who had to cook food - her mum
hated cooking and everything went wrong! For example, her mum always burnt the
toast for breakfast in the mornings, and the last time she made an omelette it tasted
horrible. So, Elisabeth’s dad made every meal and Elisabeth sat with him in the kitchen
and talked to him while he was cooking.

Elisabeth watched her dad make meals such as avocado salads, fish pies and lasagne
for all her family to enjoy, and she started to write down the recipes in her notebook.
Her favourite meal her dad cooked was roast chicken and vegetables every Sunday - it
was the best chicken she had ever tasted!

One day, her dad asked her if she wanted to make a vanilla sponge cake, and that
was the start of her new hobby. She had lots of fun making the cake with her dad and
following every step of the recipe, and the cake was delicious! However, she thought
the recipe was a little too easy and wanted to make more difficult dishes, so her dad
bought her a recipe book for her birthday.

Now, Elisabeth cooks dinner for her whole family every Friday night and so far, she’s
made things like fajitas, hot pots, stews and salmon. Everyone is really proud of how
passionate she is about cooking tasty and healthy food, and they’re even happier that
they don’t have to cook on a Friday anymore!

“I didn’t think she was paying attention to me when I was cooking, but she definitely
was! I’m really happy for her and I hope she continues with her new hobby because
it’s so interesting”, Elisabeth’s dad says.
